Send money to someone in Los Angeles County jail.

Confirm the booked name and booking number, then choose how to deposit. Spending money goes to the inmate trust account; paying for phone calls is a separate task.

    Check the current LASD record and copy the name and booking number exactly.

  2. Use Access Corrections

    Follow LASD’s official deposit link to Access Corrections. You can also use its app or call 866-345-1884. Review the current transaction terms before paying.

  3. Enter a residential address

    Use a valid street address for the depositor; a P.O. Box is not accepted. Keep the confirmation after submitting.

  4. For a mailed deposit, check the recipient address

    LASD lists a $200 maximum for mailed deposits. California senders may use a certified bank cashier’s check or U.S. Postal Money Order; senders in other states must use a U.S. Postal Money Order. Make it payable to the inmate’s name and booking number.

  5. For cash or a pickup, plan the trip first

    LASD lists a cash kiosk at the PDC Visiting Center during visiting hours, and in-person deposit or pickup locations at IRC and CRDF. Bring government-issued photo ID. Confirm access before traveling.

  6. After release, ask about any remaining balance

    LASD says trust accounts are purged about 30 days after release. Waiting beyond that can delay collection of the funds. Contact the cashier promptly for the correct pickup process.

Where to mail a deposit

Include the inmate’s name and booking number with the payment. These deposit addresses differ from the general correspondence instructions.

  • For men: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, P.O. Box 86164 Terminal Annex, Los Angeles, CA 90086-0164; Attn: Inmate Name, Booking Number.
  • For women: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Century Regional Detention Facility, 11705 S. Alameda Street, Lynwood, CA 90262; Attn: Inmate Name, Booking Number.
  • Ask the cashier about balance limits and acceptance before mailing. Do not send cash or personal checks.

In-person deposits and pickups

Bring government-issued photo ID and confirm the current service hours before leaving.

Withdrawing money while someone is in custody

LASD requires a Money Release Form from custody staff. For someone at PDC, ask at the visiting check-in window about obtaining the form.

  • Withdrawals are processed at IRC or CRDF. LASD describes a typical approval and availability period of 24–48 hours after submission; confirm before making the trip.
