Alameda County jail information for families
If someone you care about has been arrested in Alameda County, first find out where they are being held. For adult county custody, use the Alameda County Sheriff's locator or call Santa Rita Jail information at 925-551-6500. Santa Rita is in Dublin. After a recent arrest, the person may still be at a city holding facility.

A city arrest may start somewhere other than Santa Rita
Ask the arresting agency whether it still holds the person or has transferred them. A city arrest does not mean Santa Rita booking is complete.
City holding facilities and the closed Glenn Dyer jail
Berkeley City Jail holds people between arrest and arraignment. Its physical address is 2100 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Berkeley, CA 94704; jail telephone 510-981-5766. Berkeley's official pages give conflicting weekday and weekend visiting windows. Call the jail before planning a visit; this guide does not choose between those schedules.
Fremont's Temporary Holding Facility is at 1990 Stevenson Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538; telephone 510-790-6800. It changed from a Type I facility to a temporary holding facility in November 2021, and the city's page says it allows legal visits only. The police station is at 2000 Stevenson Blvd.; property services are at 1980 Stevenson Blvd.
Hayward's Type I jail is at 300 W. Winton Ave., Hayward, CA 94544. Call the jail at 510-293-7043, rather than police dispatch, for jail questions. Its published video visiting window is daily, 1–5 p.m., for 20 minutes, subject to processing availability. Confirm that a visit is available before making plans.
San Leandro's temporary-custody policy covers adults held before release or transfer. Ask police at 510-577-2740 about the current holder. The separately listed 510-577-3364 number is for jail registration appointments; it is not established here as a general custody hotline.
Glenn Dyer is closed. The county's July 2020 AB109 report records its permanent closure in June 2019. A remaining reference to Glenn Dyer in locator boilerplate does not establish that it has reopened.

Once you have confirmed Santa Rita custody
Write down the person's booked name and PFN. Keep them handy when you schedule a visit, address a letter or choose an account. Alameda's ConnectNetwork page lists AdvancePay, PIN Debit and Trust Fund separately. Choose a calling account for phone credit or Trust Fund for commissary support.
Check that the person is still at Santa Rita before leaving home or paying. Save your appointment confirmation and any provider receipt with your notes.
How to find someone in custody
Open the official adult custody locator. Enter either the PFN or both First Name and Last Name, then follow the live form's human-verification instructions. The form uses an "I'm not a robot" check. Follow that live form rather than the older image-entry instructions in the FAQ.
If nothing comes up, check the spelling first. The Sheriff's FAQ suggests its soundex option for similar surnames and directs callers to 925-551-6500 for help. Some names may be excluded from the public tool, so an empty result does not mean the person has been released. Ask the arresting agency or jail where to follow up.
The FAQ says wildcard searches are unsupported and an expired session requires a new search. It also says a disabled "View Details" means the person is not in custody in that system; a disabled "View Aliases" means no other name is shown. You still need to confirm whether another agency holds the person.
"Pending Release" is not a pickup time. The locator warns that processing may take hours and another legal holding authority may prevent release.

Before you visit, write or pay
- Search by PFN or name, or call Santa Rita information.
- Confirm the agency and facility currently holding the person.
- Write down the booked name, PFN and current housing information.
- Choose that facility's visiting, mail or account instructions.
- Recheck the appointment or destination before leaving home or sending anything.
Use these steps to organize your plans. They cannot tell you when booking or release will finish.

Staying in touch at Santa Rita
Once you have confirmed Santa Rita custody, choose the help you need below. City holding facilities and youth placements have their own instructions.
- Plan a Santa Rita visit: confirm the person and appointment before traveling.
- Choose a phone account: compare AdvancePay and PIN Debit before paying.
- Address mail and photos: ordinary mail and legal mail use different destinations.
- Send commissary money: choose Trust Fund for commissary support, not a calling account.

Book a visit for the person's housing unit
Use the Alameda ViaPath visiting portal to register and schedule a public appointment. The Sheriff's March 21, 2024 visiting policy also describes telephone scheduling. If you need a same-day visit, ask the jail before you set out.
Check the person's housing unit and an available appointment in the portal or with the jail. The current unit timetable has not been verified here, so an older general time block is not enough to plan a trip.
The March 21, 2024 policy describes face-to-face visiting daily except Wednesday, with holidays requiring authorization. It describes video visiting seven days a week, potentially including holidays. These are the days described in that dated policy. They do not confirm today's unit schedule or an available appointment.
Under that policy, face-to-face visits last 30 minutes. Each visitor may have one face-to-face visit per incarcerated person per day. Check the duration of a video appointment separately; the current video length remains unverified. The policy says check-in and admission begin 30 minutes before the appointment. Ask the jail how late arrivals are handled; the current cutoff has not been verified.
Under the same dated policy, two no-shows within 30 days lead to a 30-day suspension starting with the second missed visit, and further no-shows may lead to 60 days. An arrival that staff turn away does not count as a no-show. For a special visit, the policy directs you to the on-duty Watch Commander or designee. For an extended visit, ask the Visiting Unit Sergeant or designee. Traveling a long distance does not guarantee either type of visit. Confirm current procedures with the jail before relying on these dated provisions.

When a visitor needs permission
A past conviction, recent confinement or current supervision may mean you need permission to visit. The Sheriff's visiting webpage and March 21, 2024 policy set out the categories below. Ask the jail how they apply to your situation.
- Recent county-jail confinement: the webpage requires prior written or verbal authorization from the Commanding Officer or designee after confinement in the Alameda County Jail System within six months. The dated policy refers specifically to Santa Rita incarceration within six months of the attempted visit and names the SRJ Administration Captain or designee.
- A felony involving violence or bringing contraband into a jail: the webpage requires written Commanding Officer permission. The dated policy names the SRJ Administration Captain or designee. Neither cited provision establishes an elapsed-time exemption for this category.
- A nonviolent felony: the official sources disagree about the timing test. Ask the jail whether the operative rule measures from conviction or release from custody, and which official must authorize the visit. Do not decide eligibility from either clock on this page.
- A prior felony conviction and confinement in a California state prison: the webpage separately requires written Commanding Officer permission. Do not assume the preceding timing question removes this category.
- A prior felony or misdemeanor conviction with current county probation or parole: the webpage requires written Commanding Officer permission. The dated policy separately covers a prior misdemeanor with current probation from any county and names the SRJ Administration Captain or designee.
Before booking, ask Santa Rita who handles your permission request and what approval you need. The webpage and dated policy name different officials and do not cover exactly the same situations.
Ask separately about video eligibility, PRCS requirements and any approval from a supervising officer. Those requirements remain unverified here. Having a portal account or appointment does not mean a visiting restriction has been waived.

Bringing children and getting through check-in
Before bringing children, check which documents the jail will accept and how your group will enter. The details below come from the March 21, 2024 visiting policy; confirm the current arrangements before traveling.
The policy allows a public visiting party of up to four adults and four children, but no more than four people in a booth at once. Ask how registration and rotation work before bringing a larger party.
Children must remain with an accompanying adult. The policy calls for an original or copy of a birth certificate at each visit showing either the accompanying adult or the incarcerated parent. It also describes a married-minor exception using a court-sealed marriage certificate. Ask the jail before relying on a nonparent-adult or spouse exception; current acceptance has not been confirmed.
Bring acceptable government-issued photo identification under the policy, and ask about your specific document if uncertain. Alternative IDs and any infant-document exception have not been verified here.
The policy prohibits electronic devices, purses, bags, briefcases and writing utensils during visits; it permits one diaper and one bottle of milk or formula for an infant. It provides for searches of possessions and vehicles, metal screening and an alternative for a disability that prevents use of the freestanding detector. Sworn Visiting Unit members make the final dress-code decision. Check current clothing rules and storage arrangements with the jail; no locker price or detailed clothing measurement is confirmed here.
Public physical-contact visits require D&C Division Commander approval and/or a court order under the policy. Ask about any parent-child arrangement directly. A comparable parent-child contact program has not been verified for Alameda.

Get ready for a video visit
The portal instructs desktop users to install VisBridge through its Internet Visit Tester at least ten minutes before the visit. It also advertises Android VisMobile. Its public requirements recommend 1 Mbps upload and download with supported browsers. Use the requirements shown for your selected visit and test your setup beforehand. Meeting the published requirements does not guarantee a working connection.
Visitor support: 855-208-7349. The provider publishes hours of 6 a.m.–4 p.m. MST Monday–Friday and 7 a.m.–4 p.m. MST Saturday–Sunday. This is visitor/video help, not phone-account customer service.
The portal's refund policy lists no charge for specified facility cancellations, including release, housing or station issues, while a visitor cancellation may incur a charge. Read the highlighted terms for your appointment before paying. Current prices, free-session allowances and cancellation deadlines remain unverified here. Do not assume a failed connection entitles you to a refund.
Professional visitors need facility vetting after registration. The portal warns that unvetted visits will be recorded and gives prolist@acgov.org for approval inquiries. A family account or registration alone does not provide approved confidential professional access. Ask the jail for current video conduct rules and any accommodation you need. A current conduct list has not been verified here.

Before you use these details
Alameda's ConnectNetwork listing enables AdvancePay Phone, PIN Debit and Trust Fund.
| Account | What it funds |
|---|---|
| AdvancePay | Prepaid calls to the payer's receiving telephone number. |
| PIN Debit | Calling money owned by the person in custody. |
| Trust Fund | Commissary support rather than phone or video credit. |
Phone-account customer service: 877-650-4249. Before paying, ask about transfer and refund terms for the account you select. The balances do not all work alike.
The Sheriff's December 19, 2024 telephone policy describes outgoing calls during regularly scheduled Pod Time and does not allow direct incoming family calls. It says nonlegal calls may be recorded and attorney/client calls are not recorded under the policy; arrange legal access through the approved process. The dated policy does not give a current clock-hour schedule or promise unlimited access.
For intake, that policy describes at least three completed calls no later than three hours after arrest unless physically impossible, and names Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin and San Ramon as the local dialing area. This describes the dated policy, not what happened in a particular arrest. It does not establish a universal free-call entitlement. Confirm current practice and rates with the jail or provider.
For an urgent family message, call Santa Rita information at 925-551-6500 and ask for routing to Reentry & Support Services, or the Watch Commander when that service is closed, as described in the telephone policy. This does not promise an immediate callback.
The policy describes 90-day blocks for misuse. The provider says dropped mobile or cordless calls are not routinely refunded; keep the receipt and call details if requesting review. Ask about the current restriction or charge in your case rather than assuming automatic reinstatement or a refund.

- Pigeonly: privileged-sender authentication
Before you use these details
Ordinary letters now use a processing address separate from the jail. The Sheriff's notice introduced nonprivileged-mail processing on February 23, 2026 and says nonprivileged mail received at the jail after March 25, 2026 is returned.
For an ordinary personal letter, use the provider's label below and include the person's full legal name and PFN:
Full legal name and PFN Santa Rita County Jail - 2300 PO Box 96777 Las Vegas, NV 89193
Include your return name and address. Pigeonly's Santa Rita guide specifies up to ten 4-by-6-inch photos per parcel, an envelope no larger than 4 by 9.5 inches and paper no larger than 8.5 by 11 inches. The jail's December 9, 2025 mail policy also limits photos to ten per correspondence/day, but predates the new processing route and allows larger paper. Use the smaller dimensions in the processing guide and check its current restrictions before sending. Following the dimensions does not guarantee acceptance.
Legal/privileged mail and approved publisher or distributor publications go directly to Santa Rita with the person's name and PFN:
Full legal name and PFN Santa Rita Jail 5325 Broder Blvd. Dublin, CA 94568
Privileged senders must authenticate with Pigeonly under the Sheriff's notice. Open privileged-sender authentication. Do not label an ordinary letter as legal mail to avoid the personal-mail route.
The December 9, 2025 policy permits six books and magazines combined per day from a publisher or a legitimate online bookstore that sells and ships directly. It prohibits hardcovers and third-party redirects. Check approval before ordering; a product's presence in a catalog is not jail approval.
That dated policy describes processing Monday–Friday except holidays or emergencies, four postage-paid envelopes and eight sheets weekly for indigent correspondence, unlimited paper and postage for attorney/court correspondence, and legal-mail opening in the recipient's presence. Confirm current arrangements after the processing change. These are policy provisions, not end-to-end delivery times.
The policy says mail with the wrong PFN is returned unopened without notice and mail for a released or transferred person is returned to the sender. Do not rely on forwarding.
Send copies if you need to keep the originals. Pigeonly's Santa Rita guide and its generic return service give conflicting information about recovering originals. It remains unclear whether Santa Rita mail qualifies for that service. Confirm with the provider before sending anything you need back.

Putting money on the right account
Use Alameda's ConnectNetwork page and select the correct person and account.
| Payment purpose | Alameda-listed telephone |
|---|---|
| Trust Fund, for commissary | 888-428-1845. |
| PIN Debit, for calling money | 888-428-1845. |
| AdvancePay, for calls to your number | 800-483-8314. |
The provider's Spanish Alameda listing gives Site ID 167 for automated PIN Debit deposits. It is not the personal-mail identifier 2300.
The provider describes Trust Fund deposits as final and nonrefundable to the sender, typically transmitted within one business day. That transmission time does not tell you when the money will be available to spend. Check the person's identity and the account before submitting a payment.
The Sheriff's December 19, 2024 funds policy describes lobby receipt procedures for cash, cashier's checks and money orders. It requires photo ID, verified name/PFN and checking and signing the receipt. Confirm current counter hours, accepted methods and any deposit cap before bringing funds; kiosk/card availability is not verified here.
Before mailing funds, ask jail Accounting for the correct destination. Neither address in the mail section is a verified current mailed-money destination after the mail change. Ask Accounting or the jail for the current spending limit too. The published commissary policy gives conflicting limits; no weekly cap is confirmed here.
The county's 2024 commissary contract describes iCare, and the vendor catalog asks for a facility and recipient. A package order is separate from a phone or trust deposit. Before ordering, confirm that the person can receive it and check stock, order limits, the cutoff and refund terms. Those current details remain unverified here.

Getting to Santa Rita and asking for access help
Wheels Route 1 connects Dublin/Pleasanton BART with Santa Rita on weekdays and weekends. Its weekend table includes the jail but not the East County Hall of Justice stop.
The published timetable lists the first and last jail departures at 6:43 a.m. and 8:47 p.m. on weekdays, and hourly weekend departures from 8:47 a.m. to 8:47 p.m. The operator lists no Route 1 service on November 26 or December 25, 2026. Check the current Route 1 timetable on your travel day and plan a backup ride. A last jail departure does not guarantee an onward BART connection.
Wheels publishes regular cash fares of $2.50 for a single ride and $4.00 for a day pass, with exact change required; Clipper and discount terms differ. Transit customer service: 925-455-7500.
For eligible Dial-A-Ride passengers, the operator lists reservations at 925-455-7510, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., seven days a week, at least one day and up to one week ahead. Ask about eligibility and the particular jail trip. This is not a confirmed same-day jail shuttle.
For jail access arrangements, call 925-551-6500 before the visit. The March 21, 2024 visiting policy provides for service animals, alternative metal screening, accessible booths and assistance. The visiting and December 19, 2024 telephone policies describe mobile-video, lobby Station 4 and TTY alternatives. Confirm which arrangement is available for your visit. Jail parking charges, locker costs, the precise pickup bay and an accessible curb-to-entrance route are not verified here.
Court accommodation requests go to a separate contact: 510-891-6211 or ADA_Request@alameda.courts.ca.gov. The court encourages form MC-410 and generally asks for at least five court days' notice, with a discretionary waiver possible.
If you need a food stop in the area, Denny's lists 5331 Hopyard Road, Pleasanton, CA 94588; 925-399-7589; and 24-hour opening on its property page. Recheck actual and holiday service. This listing is not an endorsement. Hotel contacts, hotel parking and accessible-room details have not been verified and are not supplied here.

Share a health concern with the jail
If you have an urgent health concern about someone at Santa Rita, call 925-551-6500 and ask for the appropriate medical staff or Watch Commander. The county directory separately lists the Adult Mental Health Santa Rita Jail Clinic at 925-551-6740. The clinic number is not emergency dispatch. Calling it does not give you permission to receive confidential records.
The Sheriff's October 30, 2020 care policy directs residents to submit form 455-001 to the sick-call box or medical staff and says inmate-initiated medical visits are free. Clinical decisions belong to the responsible clinicians. Confirm current procedures; the published policy is not a guarantee of immediate treatment.
Ask the treating service how to share medication information before bringing or sending medicines, glasses or supplies. A family medication-intake fax and permission for family deliveries have not been verified here.
For Behavioral Health records requests, contact the Custodian of Records at 2000 Embarcadero, Suite 400, Oakland, CA 94606; telephone 510-567-6884; fax 510-777-2208. Published hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., excluding holidays. The process requires signed authorization and identification, with separate psychotherapy authorization and substance-use-provider routes. Use that fax for the records process, not medication intake. The process does not automatically cover physical-health records or give a family member access.
The March 16, 2026 pregnancy policy describes a manual pump and private space; an electric pump requires Operations Captain/Medical Director approval. It provides for a caregiver to collect milk within seven days. Ask staff for current arrangements and approved pickup instructions; the pickup bay and hours are not verified.
The August 24, 2022 assistive-device policy requires physician examination within 24 hours after security removal of a device and assessment of alternatives. The December 3, 2025 ADA policy describes replacement and return procedures. These dated policies describe what is required; they do not confirm what happened in an individual case. Get approval before a family delivery.

Check the current placement, not an old facility address
Glenn Dyer's permanent June 2019 closure is recorded in the county's July 2020 AB109 report. Use the current holder, not its former Oakland address, for family contact.
DOJ's 2021–2025 summary describes closing FCI Dublin. The BOP director's 2024 testimony describes removing everyone from the institution and camp beginning April 15, 2024. Those historical records do not establish a current destination at the former site. Use the BOP locator and confirm the current placement rather than traveling to the former institution.
An official Alameda City Jail closure date has not been independently confirmed for this page. Contact Alameda Police for current custody routing; the police station's existence does not establish active jail visiting there.

Youth placement starts with Alameda County Probation
Alameda County Probation operates Juvenile Hall and lists Camp Wilmont Sweeney. Santa Rita's adult procedures do not apply to either placement.
Juvenile Hall / Juvenile Justice Center physical address: 2500 Fairmont Drive, San Leandro, CA 94578.
- Intake: 510-667-7450.

|---|---|
| 2 and 5 | 8–10 a.m. |
| 4 and 6 | 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. |
| 1 | 1–3 p.m. |
Confirm the unit, eligible visitors and any special approval before traveling. Bring photo ID and do not arrive unannounced. Ask separately about Thanksgiving and Christmas arrangements. For visiting concerns, Probation lists the 24-hour supervisor at 510-667-7446.
Camp Wilmont Sweeney's physical address is 2600 Fairmont Drive, San Leandro, CA 94578; telephone 510-667-7474. Probation describes a 50-bed minimum-security residential program for males ages 15–21. That description is not a current occupancy report or an individual eligibility decision; ask the assigned Probation Officer about placement.
Ask Probation for the youth placement's mail label and deposit instructions. Neither physical address above has been verified as a resident-mail label. Do not send youth mail to Santa Rita's Las Vegas processing address.

Looking outside the county system
For CDCR custody, start with CIRIS and use the person's current institution's instructions. For BOP custody, use the federal inmate locator. Immigration custody has a separate ICE Online Detainee Locator.
These tools serve different systems; the BOP tool is not a locator for every federal or immigration detainee. This page has not tested search eligibility or individual results. Ask counsel about a particular hold or legal authority.
Do not use Santa Rita's account instructions or personal-mail label for another system. Use the separate facility pages for Mule Creek, Pine Grove or Preston; none is a substitute for Alameda custody information.

Jail questions and court questions go to different places
Being held at Santa Rita does not tell you which courthouse handles the case. Use the court's Criminal Division page, its Find Your Court Date option and the case information provided by counsel.
The court lists four criminal courthouse locations:

Published building hours are Monday–Friday: Dublin 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.; Fremont and Wiley 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; Davidson 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Wiley's building hours are also listed on its location page.
Criminal counters at Dublin, Fremont and Wiley list Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Davidson's criminal counter lists Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.; criminal telephone hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Recheck holidays and the exact service. Building hours do not apply to every counter or division, and these are physical locations rather than separately verified mailing instructions.
The court's records page describes free, unregistered criminal case information for activity since 2005, excluding documents. Use the separate criminal record request service for nonconfidential copies. Check current fees and request instructions; public access does not promise sealed or juvenile records.

Dublin lists interviews Monday–Friday, 9–11 a.m. and 2–4 p.m. The Oakland branch lists telephone hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and walk-in hours of 2–4 p.m.; Fremont lists telephone hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and in-person hours of 3–4 p.m. Juvenile lists no walk-ins and telephone interviews from 2–4 p.m. Confirm the day and appointment with the branch. Do not treat one branch's hours as another's, or these physical addresses as verified separate mailing instructions.
District Attorney and Victim Witness
The District Attorney's main contact is 1225 Fallon Street, Suite 900, Oakland; telephone 510-272-6222; email AlcoDA@acgov.org. The DA's page gives inconsistent ZIP codes for that office. Ask the office for the correct mailing label before posting a letter; a postal ZIP is not confirmed here.
Victim Witness has a separate office at 1401 Lakeside Drive, Suite 802, Oakland, CA 94612; telephone 510-272-6180; fax 510-208-9565; email askvw-da@acgov.org. It is not the defendant's defense office or the DA's general prosecution switchboard.
The program describes crisis response, court accompaniment, safety planning and help finding services. It says services are free and available regardless of immigration status, income, language or background. Ask about your needs and available help; this does not guarantee immediate housing, funds or compensation.

Police reports and local agency contacts
For a Sheriff's police report, use ACSORecords@acgov.org, fax 510-667-3970, or the published report-request mailing destination: 2000-150th Avenue, San Leandro, CA 94578. Service hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; report pickup hours are 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., excluding holidays. Confirm the pickup location before traveling. The mailing address does not establish a walk-in counter, and a Sheriff's report is not a court case record.
Use the contacts below for the agency and service you need. They are selected listings, not a complete inventory of Alameda County agencies or holding locations. Some listings are Sheriff service locations, and the former CHP Castro Valley office is included only as a merger note.
Campus and transit police are distinct from city police. CSU East Bay's 2026 safety plan describes statewide peace-officer authority; do not assume a campus label means legal authority ends at the campus boundary.

Bail, warrants, probation and state parole
The Sheriff's June 4, 2024 bail policy lists U.S. cash, surety, U.S. Treasury or certified bank checks and court-origin property bonds. For cash-only bail, it lists U.S. cash or a certified cashier's check. Confirm the current court order, exact payee and receiving location before paying. A generic Trust Fund payment is not a bail transaction.
Another legal hold can prevent release even after bail. The May 23, 2023 release policy also describes identity processing and ITR Sergeant/Watch Commander approval. Those policy steps do not give you an exact release time. Ask the jail about the current process and pickup arrangements.
For a warrant, the court directs people to the issuing courthouse or appropriate law-enforcement agency. Ask counsel or the relevant clerk for case-specific instructions. Do not apply another county's warrant procedure or infer a legal conclusion about an immigration hold from a locator result.
The court warns that Pretrial Services never asks defendants or families for money for GPS or its services. Eligibility for pretrial release or supervision is case-dependent. Verify an unexpected request through the court, rather than treating the caller as authenticated.
County Probation
Administration is at 1111 Jackson Street, 7th/8th floors, Oakland, CA 94607. Adult information and case assignments: 510-268-7050. For reporting, follow your assigned officer's directions or court order. Administration is not everyone's reporting location.
Probation's location directory also lists:
| Office | Physical address | Telephone |
|---|---|---|
| Probation Center | 1401 Lakeside Drive, Oakland, CA 94612 | 510-268-7050 |
| East County Hall of Justice office | 5149 Gleason Drive, Suite D115, Dublin, CA 94568 | 925-551-6878 |
| Hayward | 24085 Amador Street, Hayward, CA 94544 | 510-670-5354 |
| Las Vistas II/III | 2300 Fairmont Drive, San Leandro, CA 94578 | 510-667-3182 |
Confirm reporting assignment and hours before traveling. Separate mailing functions and individual alternative-sentencing eligibility have not been verified for this guide.
State parole
CDCR's Northern Region directory, marked updated September 14, 2026, lists Berkeley/Oakland 1/East Bay GPS at 1957 Parkside Drive #100, Concord, CA 94519; telephone 925-602-0838. State parole is separate from county Probation. Follow the release papers and assigned unit rather than reporting to a county office by assumption.

Property, release planning and help with problems
Collecting property
The Sheriff's November 12, 2025 property policy describes resident authorization on PD-132, approval, recipient photo ID and a signed receipt. It treats approved court-clothing exchanges separately. Ask the jail for current ordinary property-counter hours and instructions before traveling. Property held as evidence by the arresting agency requires a separate inquiry to that agency.
Planning a ride after release
An April 10, 2026 county letter describes Safe Landing shuttle service Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–midnight, including family visitors and travel involving BART, the jail and Oakland. Treat the letter as a dated description of the service, not a live timetable. Confirm dispatch, pickup frequency, reservations and holiday operation before relying on the shuttle, and arrange a backup ride.
Roots publishes 510-777-1177 for medical appointments; that number is not verified as shuttle dispatch. Ask staff what transport help is available at release. Current release-ticket eligibility and delivery procedures remain unverified, so do not rely on old cash thresholds or ticket instructions.
Reentry and family support
FERC lists reentry support at 510-746-1717 and 5776 Stoneridge Mall Rd., Suite 178, Pleasanton, CA 94588, with a warmline at 888-896-3372. BACS lists East County housing contact 510-250-2022 at 3311 Pacific Avenue, Livermore, and RTTreferrals@bayareacs.org for reentry treatment referrals. Call to confirm hours, eligibility and referral requirements. Neither contact can be treated as a promise of a bed or immediate treatment. For an urgent jail concern, use the jail's contact rather than these support services.
Concerns, grievances and programs
For nonurgent family concerns, the Sheriff's Ombuds office lists 510-667-4373 and a public contact form. It asks for one call or form per issue and is not staffed around the clock. It is not a formal investigator or grievance appeal body. Use 925-551-6500 for an urgent jail concern rather than leaving an Ombuds voicemail.
People in custody have a grievance process under the March 4, 2026 policy. Read that dated guidance for deadlines and exceptions. The December 3, 2025 PREA policy has no sexual-abuse reporting time limit and describes *89 from a jail phone as an outside crisis route. Ask staff about current reporting access; this page does not promise an investigation result or substitute an ordinary grievance deadline for abuse reporting.
The December 11, 2024 services and programs policies and January 8, 2025 request policy describe program/application and Message Request channels. Ask staff which programs are available and how to apply now. Submitting a request does not guarantee a seat, work release or approval for an outside program.

Questions families ask
What if the locator has no result?
Check spelling and try the Sheriff's suggested soundex option. Call 925-551-6500 or ask the arresting agency where to follow up; absence from the public tool is not proof of release.
Can I go to Santa Rita without an appointment?
Use the visiting portal and confirm an appointment. The current housing-unit timetable is not verified here; call the jail about an exception rather than assuming a walk-in visit is available.
Can children visit?
The dated visiting policy describes adult accompaniment and relationship documents. Confirm the child's documents and any exception with the jail before traveling. Youth-facility visiting is a separate process.
Where do ordinary letters go?
Use the person's full legal name and PFN, Santa Rita County Jail - 2300, PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193. Legal mail and approved commercial publications use the direct jail address instead.
Which account should I choose?
AdvancePay funds calls to your number; PIN Debit funds the resident's calls; Trust Fund supports commissary. Confirm the account and recipient before paying.
How do I locate a young person?
Start with Juvenile Hall Intake, 510-667-7450, and confirm the placement with Probation. Do not use adult Santa Rita mail or visiting rules for a youth placement.
Is there a weekend bus to Santa Rita?
Wheels Route 1 publishes weekend jail service, unlike its weekend courthouse service. Check the current timetable, holiday exceptions and return connection before traveling.
Does paying bail guarantee release?
No. The locator warns that another legal holding authority can prevent release, and processing is not an exact pickup appointment.
How do I report a correction?
Use Jail411's contact page and identify this page and the detail that needs correction. Do not send sensitive booking documents, medical records or account credentials.

Keep the details together
Privately save the booked name, PFN, confirmed facility, case details, appointments and provider receipts. Note whom you called and what needs another check. Keep those notes in one place your family can find; they are not a live custody feed.
Jail411 is an independent information resource, not the jail, court or service provider. Confirm current instructions with the responsible office before relying on a schedule, sending funds or making a trip. Report a correction.
