Los Angeles County has 36 Superior Court courthouses spread across the county. If you have a court date, finding the right courthouse matters — cases are assigned by location and case type. This directory lists every courthouse with address, phone number, and what types of cases are heard there.

General Information (All Courthouses)

  • Clerk’s office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (closed weekends and court holidays)
  • Security: All courthouses have metal detectors and bag screening. No weapons, no liquids over 3 oz. Arrive early, especially downtown — security lines can be long.
  • Parking: Almost always paid except in suburban locations. Downtown runs $15–$25/day. Jurors typically get free or validated parking — bring your summons.
  • Public transit: Downtown and major locations are accessible by Metro. Suburban courthouses may require a car.

Parking Tips

  • Downtown courthouses (Clara Shortridge Foltz, Spring Street, Stanley Mosk, Central Arraignment): Expect to pay $15–$25/day in nearby parking structures. Arrive 30–45 minutes early for security lines.
  • Jurors: Stanley Mosk jurors use the Walt Disney Concert Hall garage (free with jury summons). Airport Courthouse has free on-site juror parking. Always bring your summons for validation.
  • Suburban courthouses: Parking is generally easier and cheaper than downtown. Many have adjacent lots.
  • Street parking: Available in some areas but often time-restricted to 1–2 hours — not practical for full-day court appearances.

Security Tips

  • Leave knives, guns, and any weapons at home — they will be confiscated and you may be arrested
  • No food or drinks beyond water in a clear bottle at most locations
  • No photography or recording inside courthouses without permission
  • Electronic devices (phones, laptops) must go through screening — have them accessible
  • Dress professionally — jeans and T-shirts are allowed but presentable clothing makes a difference

Public Transit to Downtown Courthouses

The downtown courthouse cluster (Clara Shortridge Foltz, Spring Street, Stanley Mosk, Central Arraignment) is accessible via:

  • Metro B Line (Red): Civic Center / Grand Park Station — walk 5 minutes
  • Metro A Line (Blue): 7th Street/Metro Center, then transfer to B Line
  • Multiple Metro bus lines: Routes 2, 4, 10, 14, 48, 68, 70, 76 stop nearby
