Confirm live custody, use the correct government-campus address, preserve the unresolved JailATM/ViaPath conflict and prepare for court or release without importing state or youth rules.
JAIL411 / FAMILY FIELD GUIDE
A practical guide to Paulding County adult Sheriff jail custody.
Sources reviewed
Current adult Sheriff custody at 190 Constitution Boulevard in Dallas, Georgia. The separate Paulding Probation Detention Center, youth custody, state, municipal, historical/closed, contract, federal/ICE, court and supervision systems are excluded.
- Confirm custody
Save the booked name, inmate ID, charges, bond and housing before paying or traveling.
- Match the task
Use 190 Constitution for the jail, 90 for bonding/visitation and 180 for Sheriff records.
- Confirm open details
Call about provider, visit exception, health, entrance, property and release facts that are not public.
Confirm the person and place
Verify live custody, the operator and the correct public address before acting.
Confirm live custody before paying or traveling
- Search the Sheriff-linked inmate lookup. Use the exact booked name and save the inmate ID, booking date, charges, bond entries and housing information the live record shows.
- A blank result is not proof of release. Recheck spelling and aliases, allow for booking processing, ask the arresting agency where the person was taken, then call the jail at 770-443-3030. Have the full legal name, date of birth, arrest date and arresting agency ready.
- For an older incarceration record, use the Sheriff Records Division rather than the live custody list. Reports generally take 3–5 business days.
Use Georgia DOC, BOP or ICE locators only when there is evidence of a state, federal or immigration transfer. An arrest or booking record is not a conviction.

Use this guide only for the adult Sheriff jail
In scope: Paulding County Jail/Detention Center, operated by the Paulding County Sheriff at 190 Constitution Boulevard, Dallas, GA 30132. It is a 631-bed adult jail completed in 2020. It holds people awaiting trial, people serving qualifying misdemeanor sentences and some Georgia DOC-sentenced people awaiting transfer.
| Separate identity | Correct start |
|---|---|
| Paulding Probation Detention Center | Georgia DOC offender search and PDC rules; it is a separate state probation-detention program. |
| Youth custody | Georgia DJJ; the former Paulding RYDC is closed and current youth placement must be confirmed with DJJ. |
| Municipal arrest, courts or supervision | Arresting agency, assigned court or supervising office; these are not the housing operator. |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP or ICE locator and that operator’s rules. |

Match each task to the correct Constitution Boulevard address
| Task | Published address/contact |
|---|---|
| Adult jail and inmate accounts | 190 Constitution Boulevard; 770-443-3030 |
| Bonding and visitation | 90 Constitution Boulevard; confirm the exact public door before arrival |
| Sheriff administration and records | 180 Constitution Boulevard; 770-443-3010 |
| Courthouse/legal offices | Use the assigned court or defender’s published address, not the jail entrance |
The imported Jail411 page used 25 Industrial Way North, and an imported law-enforcement page used 247 Industrial Way North. Current county pages supersede those addresses. Confirm the task and building before traveling.

Plan contact
Use the current video process and confirm rules that the Sheriff has not published.
Start video visitation through the current county route
The current Sheriff page says family visitation is by remote video, either from an internet-connected smart device or from the Bonding/Visitation Center at 90 Constitution Boulevard. It directs families to JailATM and says each inmate receives 1 free off-site visit per week.
- Create or sign in to JailATM.
- Select Georgia and the Paulding facility, then search for the person by last name.
- Choose the available visit and save the appointment confirmation.
- Before traveling to the center, call 770-443-3030 for the live schedule and correct entrance.
The county does not publish a current housing-unit schedule, booking deadline or paid-visit price on the reviewed page.
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: visitation and communication · Paulding County Sheriff: ICS/JailATM video-visit flyer · JailATM: deposit and visitation portal · Paulding County Sheriff: Jail Division identity and contacts
Confirm IDs, minors and exceptions before the visit
The reviewed current county page does not publish a complete list of accepted visitor IDs, alternative identification, minor documentation or relationship rules, dress code, approval list, infant supplies, medical devices, late-arrival grace period, visitor suspension appeal, special/long-distance visits or attorney/family exceptions.
An older GettingOut page describes onsite rules, minors with a parent or legal guardian and a different free-visit allowance, but it conflicts with the county’s newer JailATM instructions. Do not rely on that older page for current entrance rules. Call 770-443-3030, state whether the visit is remote or at 90 Constitution Boulevard, and ask each applicable question before the appointment.

Set up the device and preserve a failed-session record
- Prepare the device. Use a computer or mobile device with a working speaker, camera and stable connection; allow camera and microphone access.
- Match the correct person. Select Georgia and Paulding County, then confirm the last name and inmate identity before paying or reserving.
- If a session fails, save the inmate name/ID, appointment, exact time, error message, screenshots and transaction record. Do not immediately buy a second visit.
- Escalate in order. Ask jail staff whether the person was available and whether the facility ended the session; then use the support channel shown in the current JailATM account.
The county does not publish a local cancellation/refund rule, facility-failure credit rule or technical support number. The GettingOut/ViaPath page lists 866-516-0115, but that provider’s current role is disputed; confirm the provider before sharing account details.
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: visitation and communication · Paulding County Sheriff: ICS/JailATM video-visit flyer · JailATM: deposit and visitation portal · GettingOut: Paulding County facility page (conflicting provider record) · ViaPath: customer support and account help
Calls, mail and money
Separate provider accounts and verify unresolved mail and package routing.
Confirm the current calling provider before funding an account
People in custody place outgoing calls; the jail does not accept incoming personal calls. The reviewed current county communication page points to JailATM for video, while a retained GettingOut page attributes calls and video to Telmate/ViaPath. The Sheriff has not reconciled the provider brands, enabled products, calling hours, per-minute rates, voicemail, number approval, blocked-call route or refund process in current public instructions.
First call the jail at 770-443-3030 and ask for the current telephone provider and product. If staff confirms ViaPath/GettingOut, support is 866-516-0115. Record the receiving number, inmate ID, failed-call time and error before contacting support. Never use an older price as a current rate.

Keep visit, phone and inmate-money accounts separate
| Purpose | Published start |
|---|---|
| Remote video | JailATM account linked by the current county visitation page |
| Calls | Confirm the current carrier with the jail before funding |
| Commissary/trust | Access Corrections online/phone or the Keefe kiosk at 90 Constitution Boulevard |
Save the inmate name and ID, payment date, amount, confirmation and account type. Confirm custody immediately before paying. A visitor video balance, telephone balance and inmate trust balance are not shown to be interchangeable.

Use only the published postcard channel for personal mail
Personal incoming mail is limited to 3 × 5 inch postcards. Include the sender’s return address and address the card:
[Inmate name and ID]
190 Constitution Boulevard
Dallas, GA 30132
Mail is inspected. A postcard may depict an image, but it cannot contain nudity, violence or illegal activity. A person may possess only 3 postcard pictures at a time. The Sheriff says other personal items are returned; letters are returned unopened. Confirm current custody and inmate ID before mailing.
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: inmate mail · Paulding County Sheriff: Jail Division identity and contacts
Do not apply the postcard rule to privileged mail without confirmation
The public personal-mail page does not publish the legal/privileged-mail address format, sender credentials, marking, opening procedure, confidential inspection rule, electronic legal-mail option or rejection/appeal path. It also does not say that ordinary letters being returned unopened applies to properly identified legal mail.
Counsel should call 770-443-3030 before sending and ask for the current legal-mail address, envelope markings and attorney-identification requirement. Keep a copy and tracking. Families should not mark personal correspondence “legal mail.”
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: inmate mail · Paulding County Sheriff: Jail Division identity and contacts
Pause books, publications, photos and packages until staff confirms a route
The Sheriff’s reviewed mail page does not publish an approved publisher, retailer-direct book rule, magazine/newspaper rule, photo-print vendor, care-package program, holiday-package exception, property-drop route or rejection appeal. The postcard image allowance is not a package or photo-print authorization.
Before buying anything, call 770-443-3030 with the item type and ask for the permitted seller, address format, quantity, binding and content limits. If no current route is confirmed, do not ship; an outside vendor’s ability to accept payment is not facility approval.
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: inmate mail · Paulding County Sheriff: Jail Division identity and contacts
Use Access Corrections or the bonding-center kiosk
The Sheriff publishes 3 trust-deposit routes: Access Corrections online, Access Corrections by phone at 866-345-1884, or the Keefe kiosk inside the Bonding/Visitation Center at 90 Constitution Boulevard. Do not mail cash or money orders.
Commissary ordering is available once per week according to housing assignment, with a published $50 spending cap. A deposit must be posted by midnight before the person’s commissary day. The jail says available items include hygiene products, stamps, writing materials, underwear, socks, drinks and snacks. At release, the remaining account balance is issued on a debit card.
No local public page reviewed lists transaction fees, daily deposit limits, kiosk payment forms, deductions/holds, indigent supplies or debit-card support. Check the live checkout and save the receipt.

Health, access and safety
Reach the responsible office without guessing clinical or complaint procedures.
Route urgent health concerns without inventing a clinical line
Paulding County’s FY 2026 budget and current employment pages show that the jail has a healthcare function and nursing positions, but no reviewed official page publishes a family clinical line, medication-drop process, health-record authorization, sick-call request, pregnancy contact or durable-medical-equipment route.
- For an immediate life threat, call 911 and the jail at 770-443-3030; clearly say this concerns a person in custody.
- For a non-emergency concern, ask the jail to route a message to the shift supervisor or medical unit. Provide the booked name/ID, condition, timing and callback information.
- Do not bring medication or equipment until staff gives a current acceptance procedure.
The jail may be unable to disclose protected health information without authorization.

Escalate a behavioral-health crisis with specific observations
For imminent self-harm, overdose, psychosis or another immediate threat, call 911 and 770-443-3030; give the person’s name/ID, exact statements or behavior, last known time and relevant history. Ask that the information reach the shift supervisor and medical/mental-health team.
Georgia’s crisis line is 800-715-4225, and call/text 988 is available for crisis support. These services do not control jail placement or substitute for alerting jail staff. No jail-specific family mental-health liaison, continuity-of-medication procedure or suicide-watch information channel was found.

Separate an inmate grievance from a public complaint
No reviewed jail page publishes the inmate grievance form, filing deadline, emergency grievance, appeal levels, language/disability help or retaliation-reporting route. A person in custody should request the current grievance process from housing staff and keep the date, issue, staff contacted and response if allowed.
The Sheriff’s Office of Professional Standards accepts public complaints involving alleged criminal activity, sexual harassment, excessive force and other employee conduct at 180 Constitution Boulevard, 770-443-3010, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Major Karen Ritch is listed at karen.ritch@paulding.gov. That process is not published as a substitute for the inmate grievance or an emergency call.
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: commendations and complaints · Paulding County Sheriff: Jail Division identity and contacts
Ask for the jail-specific accommodation process
No reviewed source identifies the jail ADA coordinator, request form, response time, appeal, effective-communication aids, mobility-device process or accessible visiting entrance. Call 770-443-3030 before a visit and describe the specific communication, mobility, sensory or medical access need; ask where staff will meet the visitor and how to document the request.
For Paulding Transit only, reasonable-modification requests go to Betty Roach at 770-443-8873. That transit process does not decide jail accommodations or prove an accessible path from a vehicle to the secure entrance.
Sources: Paulding County Sheriff: Jail Division identity and contacts · Paulding County Transit: reasonable-modification procedure · Paulding County: Paulding Transit
Use an emergency route while the public PREA channel remains unverified
No reviewed current Sheriff page publishes the jail’s PREA coordinator, anonymous/external reporting number, third-party report method, investigation status line or victim-advocacy partner. Do not infer that the general complaint email is confidential, anonymous or PREA-specific.
For immediate danger, call 911 and the jail at 770-443-3030. For a non-emergency staff-conduct report, the Office of Professional Standards is at 770-443-3010; explicitly ask for the current PREA/sexual-safety reporting route and record the referral. A person in custody should also tell a trusted staff member and request the internal confidential-reporting procedure.

Court, counsel and bond
Match the case to its court, lawyer and accepted bond process.
Use the live case record and understand first appearance
First appearance is by video on Monday at 11:00 a.m. and Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m.. The Magistrate Court explains that this is an initial review of charges and bond—not a formal bond hearing. The public normally watches from the Magistrate Courtroom; when the courthouse is closed for a holiday, the county directs viewers to the Bonding/Visitation Center at 90 Constitution Boulevard.
For a criminal case search, the Clerk instructs users to enter the name as Last, First or a 6-digit case number with dashes, such as 21-CR-000001. Confirm the assigned court and next hearing with the clerk; a custody page is not the court docket. Clerk contact: 770-443-7527.

Contact the defender that matches the court
| Office | Contact |
|---|---|
| Superior Court felony/juvenile defender | 1387 Industrial Boulevard North, Suite 103; 770-443-3463; PCPublicDefenderApps@paulding.gov; Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. |
| State Court misdemeanor/juvenile defender | 280 Constitution Boulevard; 678-981-4380; PCStateCourtDefender@paulding.gov |
The Superior Court application page lists proof of household income and a $50 per file money order payable to PCBOC. The State Court office says it follows up within 2 business days. A fee or application does not guarantee eligibility or representation; confirm the case level and deadline.
Sources: Paulding County: Superior Court Public Defender · Paulding County: State Court Public Defender · Paulding County Clerk: criminal case search
Choose the correct bond method and preserve the receipt
The Sheriff lists cash, professional, property and attested-property bonds. A $20 fee applies to every bond. Call the Bonding Center at 770-443-3030, 90 Constitution Boulevard, to confirm the current amount, eligible method, payee and release conditions before traveling.
- Cash: anyone may post the full amount; photo ID is required; no credit cards or personal/business checks. The money is returned to the poster after trial or plea, subject to the court process.
- Paulding property: bring the warranty deed, current tax statement showing taxes paid, current mortgage statement, all deeded owners with photo ID and death proof if a named owner is deceased. The county requires unencumbered equity of 2 times the bond.
- Outside-county property: first obtain an attested packet from the sheriff in the property’s county, then return the sealed envelope; tampering may cause rejection.
Payment does not promise a release time.

Request the right record from Sheriff Records
The Records Division maintains arrest/incarceration records, photographs and court documents received in the jail record. Requests may be sent to sheriff-openrecords@paulding.gov, faxed to 770-505-5524 or delivered to 180 Constitution Boulevard. The office is open Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. at 770-443-3010. The county says reports generally take 3–5 business days.
For a live criminal docket or certified court filing, use the assigned court clerk. Ask Records specifically for proof of incarceration if that is the needed document. Fees, exemptions and redactions depend on the record and law.

Release and practical travel
Plan property, reentry and travel while preserving the remaining access gaps.
Verify property and release logistics by task
No reviewed official page publishes the release door, typical processing time, waiting area, after-hours transportation, clothing/medication return, identity requirement for property pickup, third-party authorization or unclaimed-property deadline. The Inmate Accounts page confirms only that a remaining account balance is issued on a debit card at release.
- Confirm that a court release, bond or transfer order has reached the jail.
- Call 770-443-3030 and ask separately about release status, debit card, personal property, prescribed medication and the correct pickup entrance.
- Do not send a driver until staff identifies the public waiting/drop-off location. A posted bond does not establish a release estimate.

Prepare a verified handoff without assuming a jail program
The Sheriff publishes an Inmate Work Force that uses supervised crews; that is not evidence of a residential work-release or family enrollment program. No reviewed page publishes discharge planning, ID replacement, Medicaid restart, prescriptions, housing placement, transportation voucher or probation handoff.
Before release, ask the person to request written instructions for court, probation/parole, medication, property and account balance. For community help, dial 211 for Georgia 211 food, housing, utilities, health and employment referrals. For crisis support call 800-715-4225 or call/text 988. Wellstar Paulding’s emergency department is at 2518 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, Hiram, GA 30141; it is a community emergency site, not the jail medical provider.

Use the court-side victim and safety contacts
The District Attorney and Victim Witness Assistance program are at 280 Constitution Boulevard, 770-443-7561, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.. They can explain statutory victim services and case communication, but they do not control housing or release timing.
For domestic-violence help, the Sheriff lists Shepherd’s Rest at 770-443-5213, the Sheriff DV/sexual-assault unit at 678-224-4301, the District Attorney at 770-443-7561 and the Solicitor at 678-981-4370. For immediate danger call 911.

Reserve demand-response transit; there is no fixed jail stop
Paulding Transit is a county-only, fare-free demand-response service for approved riders. Submit the application, then call 770-443-8873 during office hours. Reserve by 7:30 a.m. the business day before; space is first come. Service is curb-to-curb, the rider must be ready up to 1.5 hours early, the driver waits 5 minutes, and cancellation is due at least 2 hours before pickup. A rider needing personal help should arrange an escort; minors under 18 need a guardian, and a child age 5 or younger needs an appropriate passenger restraint.

Do not infer a public entrance or pedestrian route from the address
The Sheriff publishes separate jail, bonding/visitation and administration addresses but does not name the public visitor lot, parking fee, towing boundary, accessible space, release waiting area, drop-off curb, visitor entrance or accessible path. It warns that loitering, smoking and cell-phone use are prohibited within 100 feet of the Bonding and Visitation Center.
Before driving, call 770-443-3030, name the task and ask for the correct entrance and permitted waiting location. A Transit reservation does not establish a safe pedestrian path from the curb to a secure door.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.
Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.
Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?
No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.
Does posting bond mean the person comes home?
Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.
What should I confirm before visiting?
The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.
What if I find something that needs correcting?
Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
