JAIL411 / FAMILY FIELD GUIDE

Orange County, Florida: a practical guide to the jail complex.

Sources reviewed

Adult Orange County Corrections complex: Main, Female, Horizon, Genesis, Phoenix and Whitcomb, with shared BRC and visitation services. Juvenile, state, independent federal custody and the unverified Work Release record remain separate.

  1. Confirm custody

Use the county search and 407-836-3400; save the current booking and housing.

  2. Reserve the correct visit

First onsite appointment: 407-836-8061; video visits use 3000 39th Street.

  3. Separate accounts and addresses

AdvancePay, trust and Smart are different; personal mail scans in Seminole.

  4. Plan court and release

BRC handles intake and release; later court may be downtown.

PART 01

Find the person and destination

Current custody, housing and public entrances.

Find the person and keep the booking number

Start with the official Orange County, Florida custody search. Enter the last name; the first name is optional. Match the booked name and identifying details, then save the booking number, housing/cell code, charges, case number and bond information. A listing records custody and allegations, not guilt.

  1. The county updates the list every 30 minutes after staff enter the booking. That is not a promise that arrest-to-booking takes 30 minutes.
  2. If a new arrest is missing, check spelling and ask the arresting agency whether the person has reached county intake or remains elsewhere.
  3. Call Inmate Records at 407-836-3400 for a missing, ambiguous or apparently transferred record. Released people disappear from the live list; a failed search alone cannot tell you why.

For former custody records, use OCCDrecords@ocfl.net / 407-836-0321 during business hours. The daily booking report covers the preceding midnight-to-midnight period; it does not replace the current search. Court records and ICE custody require their own verification.

One corrections complex; several different destinations

Orange County Corrections Department (OCCD) operates this county system. The official facilities page lists the Main, Female Detention Center, Horizon, Genesis, Phoenix and Whitcomb housing facilities and the Booking and Release Center (BRC). These are not six separate visiting offices. Housing can change; confirm the current cell code before arranging services. Classification questions: 407-254-7584.

The BRC also houses people with medical/mental-health needs. Neither a hospital placement nor special housing guarantees ordinary visiting availability. This guide covers adult county-jail procedures only. Juvenile Assessment Center processing, state youth detention, state prisons, Work Release Center listings and independent federal/ICE custody are separate. Do not apply these rules merely because another record says Orlando. The jail can hold people on different legal authorities; confirm the actual custodian and applicable restrictions.

PART 02

Arrange a visit

Onsite appointments, remote accounts and exceptions.

Book onsite video before traveling

Ordinary family visits use video. OCCD publishes three visits per week and a Video Visitation Center open daily 9 AM–10 PM, with the last session starting at 9 PM. This is the center schedule, not a guarantee that every housing assignment has every slot.

  1. Call 407-836-8061 for the first appointment. Scheduling calls are accepted 9:30 AM–8:30 PM.
  2. Reserve at least one day ahead; the linked brochure allows booking up to one week ahead. Obtain the confirmation and your unique visitor ID.
  3. After initial registration, use the county's ViaPath reservation portal. Its password-reset option uses the email provided at registration.
  4. Arrive at 3000 39th Street at least 15 minutes early. Arrival after the appointment begins means no visit.

The reviewed county page and brochure do not establish the current onsite session length, week-reset day, long-distance additional visits or all segregation/medical exceptions. Resolve those details with the visiting desk before buying travel. No approval for an unscheduled contact visit is implied.

ID, children and the party limit

Maximum party: three visitors per session, no more than two adults. Everyone must identify themselves; the brochure requires government-issued photo ID with date of birth. The web page names a valid driver's license, state ID, military ID or passport.

Visitors younger than 18 must be with a parent/legal guardian or possess a valid marriage license. Keep children supervised before, during and after the visit; never leave them unattended outside or in a vehicle. The county does not publish a complete list of acceptable child/guardianship proof or a clear infant-count exemption. Call 407-836-8061 with each child's age and relationship before reserving. Do not treat an unrelated adult's presence as equivalent to parental/guardian approval.

For a foreign, expired, damaged or temporary ID, ask the desk whether it is accepted before traveling; the published passport option does not settle every alternative document. Request disability, hearing, language or other accommodations when arranging the appointment.

What to wear and what to leave outside

Wear a shirt, proper underclothing and closed-toe footwear with a heel strap/back. The dress poster excludes tank tops, torn clothing, spandex/tight garments, exposed chest/stomach and see-through or suggestive clothes. Shorts and skirts must be no more than 3 inches above the knee; the brochure also bans halter/tube tops, short shorts and miniskirts.

Inside the center, the published allowance is wallet and car keys only. Leave phones, purses, backpacks, diaper bags, smoking materials and gum outside. For each small child, one baby bottle and one blanket are permitted. No eating, drinking or smoking inside. Do not rely on an unverified locker service.

Visitors who appear intoxicated may be refused. Disruptive behavior can end the visit and suspend future access. If you leave the center, re-entry is not permitted. Ask in advance about essential medication, disability equipment or an infant need beyond the stated allowance; no unpublished exception is assumed.

Remote video: verify the actual reservation terms

Use the Orange County FL ViaPath portal to register or sign in, select the correct person, choose the remote option offered to that housing unit and retain the appointment confirmation. Test camera, microphone and a strong stable connection before the appointment; follow the portal's current installation/device requirements.

Source warning: the county still displays an introductory notice beginning “Tuesday July 13,” without a year. It describes one free remote visit per week lasting up to 15 minutes, an Android/PC setup and unsupported Apple devices, while saying prices and frequency will be announced later. This is not reliable evidence of today's free allowance, current supported devices or current rates. Confirm the actual offer in the portal or with 407-836-8061 before adding money. Its notice says remote check-in can open 15 minutes before the session.

Do not assume remote sessions use the same allocation or duration as onsite video. Current cancellation deadlines, remote party limits and refund terms were not publicly resolved; get them with the booking.

Sources: OCCD: video visiting · ViaPath: Orange County FL visiting portal

If a visit will not connect or ends early

For an onsite audio/video problem, tell visitation staff immediately while the appointment is still in progress. For remote technical support, ViaPath lists 855-208-7349; the county visiting desk is 407-836-8061. Keep the visitor ID, booking number, appointment time, error message, charge and receipt. Ask whether the jail canceled the session, the person was unavailable or the device connection failed; those are different problems.

Use password recovery or the missing-registration-email option instead of repeatedly creating duplicate accounts. Check spam folders and exact email spelling. If a portal page says the session timed out, restart at the main login. A timed-out web session is not evidence that visits have stopped.

Request a charge review or replacement appointment and retain the case number. No current Orange-specific automatic technical-failure refund or cancellation cutoff was verified, so reimbursement is not promised. Social visits may be monitored/recorded; use an approved professional channel for confidential legal discussions.

Lawyers and other professional visits

OCCD directs attorneys and law-enforcement officers with a professional need for face-to-face access to the North Perimeter Building, 3722 Vision Boulevard. Family members should use the social video process instead. Confirm the client's current housing and professional clearance before traveling.

The provider portal has a professional-visitor option, but a general account is not proof that a call or video session is confidential. Lawyers should ask OCCD to establish the correct privileged channel before discussing the case. The current public pages do not specify every professional credential, device, after-hours or hospital-access exception; arrange those details through 407-836-3400.

PART 03

Calls, mail and money

Separate account products and mailing addresses.

Fund the receiving phone number, not the trust account

The current provider entry identifies Orange County FL, site ID 196 and ConnectNetwork AdvancePay. Create an account, select that facility, register the phone number that will accept calls and fund AdvancePay. Funding by phone: 800-483-8314. Its balance pays calls to that specific number. A trust deposit, Smart messaging credits and a video purchase are different products.

The county says initial telephone setup can take up to 24 hours. It still uses older DSI/ITI and OffenderConnect branding; the current ConnectNetwork facility page supplies the account destination. Do not interpret the provider site's general product menu as confirmation that every product is offered in Orange County.

The county's linked tariff, effective January 1, 2025, lists $0.06 per minute for local, in-state and interstate calls, excluding stated taxes/third-party amounts. International calls add the destination termination rate. Check the current account quote before payment; this is the dated published tariff, not a guarantee of a total current charge.

Sources: ConnectNetwork: Orange County FL, site 196 · ConnectNetwork: AdvancePay · OCCD: phone information · OCCD: call rates effective January 1, 2025

Missing calls, unwanted calls and unused balances

If calls fail, verify the registered number, available AdvancePay balance and any carrier/account block; then ask staff whether the person currently has telephone access. Give provider support the time, number and charge instead of making another deposit blindly. The county lists billing help at 888-949-3303 and unwanted-call blocking at 407-836-3117. Current ConnectNetwork account/refund support is 877-650-4249.

AdvancePay permits a refund when the account is no longer needed. Its notice effective June 1, 2026 says accounts become inactive after 180 consecutive days without use, followed by 90 additional days to request the remaining balance, unless law or contract requires otherwise. Opted-in expiration reminders are sent no later than 30 days before expiration; use resets inactivity. This is a provider balance rule, not the jail's trust-release process.

Confirm remaining funds when custody changes; automatic transfer to another jail or a state prison is not established. Current local call duration, housing call hours and attorney-number registration details were not found in the public pages; ask the jail before relying on another county's rules.

Sources: OCCD: phone information · ConnectNetwork: AdvancePay · ConnectNetwork: June 1, 2026 account notice

Smart messages and photos: confirm the recipient is enabled

The county's homepage still carries a November 1, 2023 rollout notice limited to the Female Detention Center. It describes a free Smart account requiring photo ID and email activation, a connection request that the recipient must approve, and purchased credits for messages/photos. It lists a $5 minimum, $0.50 per message and $1 per electronic photo. These are the notice's dated figures; check the current recipient-specific offer before purchasing.

The separate April 19, 2024 postal-mail policy is systemwide. That later postal policy does not prove that every building has identical paid messaging features. Use SmartInmate to check the actual recipient and confirm acceptance. Help: 888-253-5178, listed by OCCD as available 24/7. Smart credits do not fund AdvancePay or jail trust purchases.

Sources: OCCD: notices, including dated messaging rollout · OCCD: mail, books and appeals

Personal mail goes to Seminole for scanning

For ordinary letters, postcards and greeting cards, the county's rule effective April 19, 2024 uses:

Smart Communications/Orange County Corrections Department
Full booked name
Booking number
P.O. Box 9101
Seminole, FL 33775-9174

Add your return address. Staff open, review and scan the material for delivery on tablets/kiosks. The recipient does not receive the original paper through this process. Do not send cash, checks or money orders to Seminole; the money-order address is different.

At MailGuard Tracker, a free account can show delivery status, rejection notifications and copies of processed mail. Support: 888-253-5178, 24/7. Keep the mailing date, booking number and any rejection notice. The county does not publish a complete current physical-photo dimension/quantity matrix, original-paper retention period or ordinary-letter appeal deadline. Ask before sending photos or unusual enclosures, and never send an irreplaceable original. The homepage's older Female-only rollout is not the current systemwide postal instruction.

Books, periodicals and a seven-day appeal

Books and periodicals go directly from a publisher or bookstore to full name, booking number and cell location; P.O. Box 4970; Orlando, FL 32802-4970. Include a return address. Books must be new paperback editions; no hardcovers, used books, spiral/metal bindings or duplicate copies of one title. No nudity, sexually oriented or security-threatening content. The maximum is four publications per shipment, counting books, magazines and newspapers together.

The county's first bullet is awkwardly worded and runs “no used books, magazines, newspapers and religious” together, but its next lines expressly discuss periodicals and count magazines/newspapers in the shipment allowance. Confirm a particular subscription or religious edition with the mailroom instead of reading that punctuation as a blanket ban.

Noncompliant parcels are returned. For a returned book/periodical, submit an appeal within 7 days of notification to Captain of Support Services, Orange County Corrections, P.O. Box 4970, Orlando, FL 32802-4970. The published response period is 10 working days. Include the rejection, title, recipient and reason for review. Questions: 407-836-3525 / mailroom@ocfl.net.

Three ways to fund the jail trust account

Trust money pays commissary purchases and may cover jail/medical charges. Verify the booked name and number, select Orange County FL / site 196, choose Trust Fund, and keep the confirmation. Do not choose AdvancePay if the intended use is commissary.

MethodInstructions
Online or phoneConnectNetwork; 888-428-1845. Visa/MasterCard, published 24/7.
BRC public-lobby kiosk3855 S. John Young Parkway; 7 AM–10 PM daily. Cash, debit, Visa/MasterCard.
Mail a money orderPayable to the incarcerated person; full name and booking number on envelope and instrument. Send separately to Inmate Fiscal Department, Orange County Corrections, P.O. Box 4970, Orlando, FL 32802-4970.

For a mailed money order, include the sender's first/last name and full street/city/state/ZIP return address. Altered or incomplete items can be returned. The accounts page says deposited instruments normally take 48 hours to process, not guaranteed instant credit. Its older general wording mentions government checks; the specific mail page says money orders only and directs them to Fiscal. Confirm any proposed check before sending. Western Union trust deposits ended April 29, 2021; its separate bond procedure is different.

Fiscal help: 407-254-8315. For a pending/duplicate card payment, keep the transaction number and ask the provider to trace it before paying again. Current deposit ceilings, transaction fees and debt deductions were not fully published in the reviewed pages.

Approved gifts and help when there is no money

OCCD expressly links iCare for approved gift packages or fresh meals. Select the Orange County, Florida recipient and check current eligibility, menu, price and delivery details before ordering. Do not mail food or a homemade package. A facility/vendor-approved order is separate from a trust deposit.

The county's May 6, 2025 commissary award includes basic-needs provision for indigent people, but does not publish the individual balance threshold, waiting period, exact hygiene/postage allowance or request schedule. Ask the person to request basic supplies through housing staff and ask Fiscal 407-254-8315 to explain the current procedure. Do not borrow the “two or three stamps” allowance advertised for other jails.

For an undelivered order, save the order number and contact the vendor before ordering again; ask what happens if the person transfers, is restricted or is released. No universal local package cutoff, replacement guarantee or post-release refund timeline was verified.

PART 04

Plan the trip

Parking, dated bus-stop evidence and local services.

Choose the parking area for your actual appointment

The county's visiting brochure distinguishes BRC public parking from employee parking and identifies separate Video Visitation Center parking. For bonds, first-appearance gallery or release, navigate to BRC, 3855 S. John Young Parkway. For social video, navigate to 3000 39th Street. Follow current signs; do not use an employee or neighboring business lot as jail visitor parking.

The brochure does not establish a current parking fee, overnight permission, height limit or an accessible curb-to-door path. Call 407-836-3400 for BRC arrival questions or 407-836-8061 for visitation accommodations. The fact that BRC accepts bonds around the clock does not establish unrestricted parking hours.

For a downtown courthouse trip, the city operates Courthouse Garage, 46 East Amelia Street, Orlando, FL 32801. Its page lists Monday–Friday 5:30 AM–midnight; weekends are closed except for events. Accessible parking is listed. Contact 407-246-2155 / parking@orlando.gov for current charges and entry details. This garage serves the downtown court area, not the jail campus.

LYNX routes and dated stop evidence

The current LYNX Link 36 Lake Richmond timetable includes the inbound timepoint 33RD ST AND VISION BLVD toward LYNX Central Station, with weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday tables. Link 36 uses a loop; an inbound stop does not establish an opposite-side outbound return stop. Link 57 John Young Parkway connects Kissimmee and Washington Shores on weekdays and Saturdays; its timetable explicitly says no Sunday/holiday service.

Stop IDName and agency dataset assignment
518633RD ST & VISION BLVD — Link 36, eastbound
6056S JOHN YOUNG PKWY & VISION BLVD — Link 57, northbound
2929S JOHN YOUNG PKWY & 39TH ST — Link 57, southbound

These stop IDs come from LYNX's official April 2026 GIS layer and are marked active in that dataset. The agency item is maintained by LYNX_GIS and credits the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority. This supports identifying candidate stops, not service on a particular date. The layer also retains an inactive stop 2749 with the older name “33RD ST AND VISION BLVD,” matching the wording in the current timetable. We have not established whether that timetable label refers exactly to stop 5186.

Before travel, ask LYNX 407-841-5969 / inquiry@golynx.com to confirm the active boarding stop, direction, return trip and transfers for your visit date. The official GTFS download failed during this review, so seven service dates and stop-level trips were not validated. No live arrivals, safe crossing, sidewalk continuity, walking duration or accessible stop-to-entrance path is implied. Plan a return that still runs after the appointment.

Check current opening and travel time before leaving the appointment area. Customer parking at a restaurant does not authorize parking there while visiting the jail. PART 05

Care and safety

Medical reporting, consent, complaints and PREA.

Communicate a medical or mental-health concern

OCCD says medical, mental-health and dental services are available across the complex 24/7; people can request sick call at any time. For family information or case management, use 407-254-7561 / Medical@ocfl.net. The detailed medical page lists availability 24/7/365; the older FAQ says voicemail inquiries receive a callback within one business day. Neither establishes immediate clinical assessment from an email.

For an immediate safety concern, tell housing staff or the jail duty staff directly and ask for urgent clinical attention. Give the full booked name, booking number, current housing if known, exact symptoms or threats and when they began. Do not wait for an ordinary email response if you believe the person may harm themselves or is acutely ill. For a nonurgent history, provide diagnoses, allergies, prescribed medicines and doses, last dose, treating clinician and callback number. Share observations rather than trying to diagnose.

Intake screening and later examination are described, but public sources do not establish every specialist referral, medical copayment or response deadline. Ask the medical team to explain the specific request and follow-up. A request for help is not a promise that a requested treatment will be ordered.

Sources: OCCD: medical services and consent · OCCD: jail and inmate FAQ

A family complaint and an internal grievance are different

For staff-misconduct concerns, the county provides a citizen complaint form. Include the person's booking number, incident date/time/location, the conduct at issue, staff identifiers if known and witnesses. The form requests the complainant's contact details and a truthfulness acknowledgment; save your submission. The jail FAQ lists Internal Affairs at 407-836-0306.

This public complaint does not automatically file or exhaust the incarcerated person's grievance process. Ask housing staff for the current inmate grievance procedure, how to retain a receipt, appeal steps and applicable deadlines. A complete current general-grievance timetable was not established in public sources. Do not use the book-mail appeal's seven-day rule for a medical or staff grievance. Immediate safety needs should be reported directly while the written complaint is pursued.

Sources: OCCD: citizen complaint form · OCCD: jail and inmate FAQ

Report sexual abuse, harassment or retaliation

OCCD's PREA page lists coordinator Tris James, 407-254-8208, Tris.James@ocfl.net, at 3723 Vision Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32839, and an online reporting option. The policy effective May 30, 2023 accepts verbal, written, anonymous and third-party reports. A family member may report what they know; a person need not confront an alleged abuser to seek help.

Inside the jail, the policy lists #9006 for the sexual-abuse hotline and #9001 for CrimeLine. It identifies the Victim Service Center, 407-497-6701, for outside support. Tell staff immediately when there is current danger and identify urgent protection or medical needs; do not wait for a routine form.

The policy provides no filing time limit for a grievance alleging sexual abuse and an initial response within 48 hours to an emergency grievance alleging substantial risk of imminent sexual abuse. That is not permission to delay protection for 48 hours. Report retaliation as well. These sexual-safety provisions do not establish the rules or deadlines for every other grievance.

The county warns that email sent to the PREA address can be subject to public-record requests. Do not assume the message or identifying details are confidential. Ask the office by telephone how to handle sensitive information before emailing. The policy also allows anonymous and third-party reporting.

PART 06

Court, property and coming home

Counsel, bond, approved property and reentry support.

First appearance, later court dates and appointed counsel

The county publishes first appearances at 9 AM and 1 PM on weekdays and 11 AM on weekends and holidays, subject to a judge's direction. With few bookings, hearings may be combined in the morning. The posted list is generated at 4:30 AM and updated at 7:30 AM and noon. Confirm the actual list; a general schedule does not establish an individual hearing time. The BRC public gallery is available on weekdays, excluding weekends and holidays.

For later hearings, use the case number and the actual notice. Orange Clerk's criminal division is at 425 North Orange Avenue, Suite 210, Orlando, FL 32801; 407-836-2000. It lists 7:30 AM–4 PM business hours. Felony matters are handled downtown; misdemeanor services may use branch locations. A court case remains separate from the custody roster. Florida's e-Notify offers case reminders; enrolling does not change a court order or excuse a missed appearance.

If the person needs appointed representation, they should ask the court about eligibility and appointment. The Ninth Circuit Public Defender is at 435 North Orange Avenue, Suite 400, Orlando, FL 32801; 407-836-4800; pubdef@circuit9.org, with published office hours Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM. Have the booking/case number ready. Calling the office does not by itself establish that a lawyer has been appointed. Use the assigned lawyer's confidential channel for case facts.

Pay the correct bond at the correct counter

Confirm each bond, any hold and the exact payment instructions with Inmate Records, 407-836-3400 before obtaining a payment instrument. OCCD accepts bonds at the BRC, 3855 S. John Young Parkway, 24/7. Its published direct-payment methods are money order, traveler's check, certified check or cashier's check payable to CLERK OF THE COURTS. Bring identification. It explicitly excludes actual cash and personal checks. Do not confuse a cash-bond category with permission to bring currency.

A licensed bail-bond agent is another option when available; choose and verify the agent independently and obtain the written charges and obligations. A commercial premium and collateral are different from money deposited directly with the court. The county's separate Western Union bond instructions use city code ORLFLJAILCLERK and the exact bond amount; its page warns that confirmation can take 24–50 hours before processing. This is not the discontinued Western Union trust-deposit service and should not be described as immediate release.

A civil purge can be paid directly at BRC using the listed payment instruments. If paid at the courthouse, the county says to bring the receipt and court order to BRC. The Clerk's bond-discharge page describes processing within 2 business days after receiving court paperwork; that is not a universal refund deadline. For bond-account questions use 407-836-2000. Release remains subject to all cases, holds and court conditions.

Expedited booking: OCCD lists this service for eligible Orange County warrants/capias, excluding charges that legally require first appearance. The published window is Monday–Friday, excluding holidays, 8 AM–2 PM, with a $20 service fee payable by money order only. Confirm eligibility with Records and counsel before arriving; prepare any bond separately. This is not a promise of immediate release or eligibility for another county's warrant.

Sources: OCCD: bond, purge and release · Orange Clerk: bonds and discharge · OCCD: jail and inmate FAQ

Authorize a property or money release before sending someone

For a person outside BRC, the county requires the incarcerated person to complete form 10-1007 and mail it to the authorized recipient. That person brings the release form and a valid driver's license or state ID to BRC. The normal rule allows one property release per incarceration: all stored property except clothing and identification. A second release can apply to excess property, or clothing/ID and in-cell property for Department of Corrections inmates. Confirm the exception first.

A money release also uses the authorization process. The published limit is one release per incarceration, up to the amount deposited at arrest, leaving at least $30. This is not permission for a relative to withdraw the entire account. Fiscal: 407-254-8315.

SituationPublished time
Normal non-BRC releaseTuesday 7:15–8:45 PM; Wednesday 7:15–8:45 AM; Saturday/Sunday 10 AM–noon and 7:15–8:45 PM
BRC cases, bondsmen and attorneys24/7 except shift changes, 5–7 AM and 5–7 PM

Confirm approval before traveling; an authorization does not itself release the person from custody. Keep the form and recipient ID together.

Sources: OCCD: money and property rules

Court clothes, glasses and approved equipment

The approved property drop-off point is the Video Visitation Center, 3000 39th Street, daily 9:30 AM–8:30 PM. The county lists court clothing such as pants, shirt, shoes, dress socks, jacket, clip-on tie, dress, skirt and blouse; prescription glasses excluding sunglasses; dentures; and contact lenses with sealed saline. Staff inspect items, and the person delivering them signs a contraband acknowledgment. Do not treat this as a general parcel service.

For specialized medical equipment or a medication exception, call Medical Case Management, 407-254-7561 before arriving. Medical staff arrange a meeting at the visitation center when approved. A listed clothing drop-off window does not authorize medication delivery or determine a court dress requirement.

Sources: OCCD: money and property rules · OCCD: medical services and consent

Release pickup and scam-resistant planning

The county says discharge processing can take up to 12 hours and varies with completion of required checks; that published estimate is not a guaranteed maximum for every case. It also lists no releases during approximate headcount/meal windows 5–7:30 AM and 5–7:30 PM. Confirm status with 407-836-3400 before a relative waits outside. The BRC brochure identifies the BRC public lobby as the release destination for the complex.

Arrange a reachable pickup person, transport that operates at the actual hour and somewhere safe to go. Ask before departure about identification, property, remaining trust money, prescribed-medication instructions and any supervision/reporting order. The reviewed sources do not promise a free taxi, bus pass, automatic medication supply or exact release time. If transport falls through, ask release staff about available assistance; do not assume a daytime bus still runs.

OCCD's homepage warns that it does not operate a home-confinement program and tells families to verify suspicious release-payment requests at 407-254-7541. Do not pay a caller merely because they know booking details. Verify through an independently obtained county number.

Ask for reentry help while there is time to arrange it

The jail describes adult basic education, GED/literacy, life skills, vocational and substance-use education, parenting, veterans' support and case management. Its booklet revised August 2024 says to submit an inmate request for programs; access depends on classification, housing, conduct and class availability. A program description is not guaranteed enrollment.

The booklet describes a prerelease orientation aimed at people 45–60 days before release, referrals for housing/shelter, mental-health and substance-use services, and Florida ID-replacement coordination for eligible people. Ask early even if the expected release is uncertain. It also describes a Drop-In Center with clothing and job-search/computer help. Confirm the current location, hours and eligibility at Reentry 407-836-0381; no guaranteed bed, job, replacement ID or walk-in appointment is implied. General programs: 407-836-8614 / Occdprograms@ocfl.net.

For a grave family illness, death or spiritual support, the county lists chaplain@ocfl.net, Orange Jail Ministries 407-836-3330, Good News Global 407-836-3667, and Spanish assistance 407-836-3569. Give the booked name and callback information; a chaplain message is not a medical emergency channel.

Read the court order before reporting to community supervision

OCCD's Community Corrections Division describes pretrial supervision, probation, community service and diversion-related services. These are court-directed processes, not a release program a relative can enroll someone in by paying a caller. Follow the actual order and officer's reporting instructions.

The county lists 3723 Vision Boulevard, second floor, Orlando, FL 32839; 407-836-3000; ccd@ocfl.net for community programs. Confirm the specific intake appointment, documents and reporting deadline. Do not substitute this administrative address for BRC release pickup or the Video Visitation Center. Participation, charges, fees and final case outcomes depend on the actual program and order; no universal eligibility or record-clearing promise is made.

Finding someone held here

Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
