Different custody systems.
Different places to start.

A Lake County arrest usually means the county jail. A state sentence, a federal case or an immigration hold means a different system with its own locator and rules.

How do I find someone in Lake County custody?

Use the official Lake County in-custody search (CitizenRIMS) linked on this page. If the person is not listed or the booking is recent, call (707) 262-4240 and ask which facility currently holds them.

Which adult jail should I use?

The guide lists Lake County Hill Road Jail. Use the facility shown in the current custody record, not simply the closest building, and reconfirm before traveling or sending anything.

What should I confirm before visiting?

Official Visiting information page (checked 2026-09-12): 30-minute visits on the hour and half-hour; sign in 15 minutes before the slot; one visit per visiting day. Bring ID and a single car key. B Pod and Booking are non-contact and need a 24-hour reservation at (707) 262-4240 x 6, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Housing-group windows: B Pod Mon 2:30–3:30 p.m. / Fri 8:30–10:30 a.m.; Booking Mon 8:30–10:30 a.m. / Fri 2:30–3:30 p.m.; A Pod and Multi-Purpose Mon 2:30–3:30 p.m. / Wed 8:30–10:30 a.m.; C Pod Mon 8:30–10:30 a.m. / Thu 2:30–3:30 p.m.; D Pod Tue 2:30–3:30 p.m. / Fri 8:30–10:30 a.m.; E Pod Tue 8:30–10:30 a.m. / Fri 2:30–3:30 p.m.; F Pod Tue and Fri 8:30–10:30 a.m. and 2:30–3:30 p.m.; G, H, H MED and I Pods Mon/Wed/Thu 8:30–10:30 a.m. and 2:00–3:30 p.m. Call before you drive — housing moves change the day.

Where should I send mail?

Sheriff Inmate Mail page (checked 2026-09-12): effective July 27, 2026, personal non-legal mail is scanned at JailATM — Lake County Jail/JailATM, Inmate Name/Inmate #, P.O. Box 16120, Jonesboro, AR 72403. Mail sent to the jail after that date is returned. Legal mail still goes to 4913 Helbush Drive, Lakeport, CA 95453 from a licensed attorney of record. Visiting and booking are at 4913 Helbush Drive — that is not the Sheriff office at 1431 Hoyt Avenue. Do not send youth mail here.

How do phone calls and commissary money work?

Phone service: ICSolutions. Commissary or deposit service: Access Corrections. Confirm the current facility and account type before paying.

Do youth use the adult jail rules?

No. Mendocino County Juvenile Hall is handled through Mendocino County Probation (Lake youth contract) / Lake County Probation. Lake County Probation’s Juvenile Hall page (checked 2026-09-12) says Lake contracts with Mendocino County Probation to house youth who must be detained. There is no operating Lake juvenile hall. Not Hill Road Jail. Do not use JailATM Jonesboro mail, Access Corrections, ICSolutions, or adult visiting at 4913 Helbush Drive.

Does posting bail guarantee release?

Sheriff Bail Information (checked 2026-09-12): download the booking sheet (charges, bail, court dates) from the inmate search, then post the full amount in cash or through a bail bond company. Out-of-county bail the same way. Lake Superior Court publishes a 2026 Misdemeanor-Felony Bail Schedule. Posting a bond does not guarantee release if a probation, parole, or out-of-county hold applies. An ICE detainer alone is not a lawful hold in California (Gov. Code § 7284.6). This is the process, not a bondsman directory.

How do I report a correction?

Use Jail411's contact page and include the page URL plus an official agency source. Do not send private booking documents, medical records, or other sensitive personal information.
