Different custody systems.
Different places to start.

A Fresno County arrest usually means the county jail. A state sentence, a federal case or an immigration hold means a different system with its own locator and rules.

Understand jail and prison differences

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

How do I find someone in Fresno County custody?

Use the official Fresno County Sheriff Incarcerated Person Search linked on this page. If the person is not listed or the booking is recent, call (559) 475-9491 and ask which facility currently holds them.

Which adult jail should I use?

The guide lists Fresno County Main Jail, Fresno County North Annex Jail, Fresno County West Annex Jail. Use the facility shown in the current custody record, not simply the closest building, and reconfirm before traveling or sending anything.

What should I confirm before visiting?

Official Visiting (checked 2026-09-12): first-come, first-served; 30-minute session; two visitors (one may be a minor in the person's immediate family). Confirm Main Jail vs North Annex vs West Annex on Inmate Search. Schedules effective Jan. 27, 2026 (page last updated Feb. 18, 2026). South Annex permanently closed Dec. 14, 2024 — replaced by West Annex at 2208 Merced Street. Quarantine housing cannot visit. Bring accepted photo ID. Cell phones banned 90 days. Call Jail Information (559) 475-9491. Youth hall is a different door.

Where should I send mail?

Sheriff Incarcerated Person Mail (effective Sept. 15, 2025, checked 2026-09-12): incoming non-privileged mail must go to Pigeonly Corrections, facility code 1900, with Booking and JID on the envelope or it is returned. Pigeonly scans a color copy; originals stored 30 days then destroyed unless the sender emails within 30 days. Envelopes no larger than 4 x 9 1/2 in. Legal/confidential mail and publisher paperback books/magazines/newspapers go to PO Box 872, Fresno, CA 93712 — not Las Vegas. Hardbound covers removed if accepted. Same Pigeonly address for Main Jail, North Annex, and West Annex. Do not send adult-jail mail to Juvenile Justice Campus (3333 E. American Avenue) or to Pleasant Valley / FCI Mendota / DSH Coalinga / Miramonte Camp.

How do phone calls and commissary money work?

Phone service: GTL / ViaPath (ConnectNetwork / AdvancePay). Commissary or deposit service: Canteen of Fresno / MyCarePack (www.MyCarePack.com); TouchPay kiosk / www.touchpaydirect.com / 1-866-232-1899 / facility number 293721. Confirm the current facility and account type before paying.

Do youth use the adult jail rules?

No. Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus is handled through Fresno County Probation Department. Fresno County Probation operates this campus at 3333 E. American Avenue. Detention Building 703, Commitment Building 704, courthouse Building 701. Official JJC page (checked 2026-09-12): (559) 600-4700. Booking (559) 600-5040. Not the adult jail. Do not use TouchPay 293721, MyCarePack, Pigeonly 1900, GTL, or adult visitor lists.

Does posting bail guarantee release?

Confirm custody on Inmate Search or (559) 475-9491, then post cash or a licensed California surety bond. Jail411 does not republish a bondsman directory. Booking holding cells have a bail-agent list. Criminal cases: Downtown Courthouse 1100 Van Ness Avenue, (559) 457-2000; Jail Annex Depts 95 & 96 at 1265 M Street (same campus as North Annex — that is court, not the visitor lobby). Court calendar (559) 457-1801. Public portal publicportal.fresno.courts.ca.gov. Posting a bond does not guarantee release if a hold applies. An ICE detainer alone is not a lawful California hold (Gov. Code § 7284.6).

How do I report a correction?

Use Jail411's contact page and include the page URL plus an official agency source. Do not send private booking documents, medical records, or other sensitive personal information.
