Tarrant County custody: choose the right system

Start with the agency actually holding the person and the current CID. The county’s older “five local jails” inventory includes Cold Springs, whose renovation status needs separate confirmation; it is not a verified count of current public visiting destinations.

Tarrant County Belknap facility →350 W. Belknap, Fort Worth, TX817-884-3000

The linked facilities share one researched county system guide, with location and service exceptions. Cold Springs at 1815 Cold Springs Road has a state renovation record listing April 15, 2027 completion; the dated weekender page still names it, so call for the actual assignment. At 350 W. Belknap, a separate city lease also provides temporary Fort Worth holding space. Arlington, Euless, Mansfield and other city operators, Lynn W. Ross juvenile custody, state facilities and federal FMC Carswell/FMC Fort Worth do not inherit these adult county rules.

Who holds someone arrested in Tarrant County?

Usually Lon Evans Corrections Center, (817) 248-6285. The arresting agency books the person and the jail holds them; ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you act on anything.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county\'s warrant, or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking, and ask the bondsman what happens if there are, before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

Confirm the person\'s current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility guide before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
