Use the active Manchester Avenue jail
The active adult Wabash County Sheriff jail and Sheriff's Department are at 1301 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, IN 46992. Use 260-563-8891 for the Sheriff/jail campus. The official annual report says this building has operated fully since April 19, 2024.

Do not use former or planning addresses
The former jail was at 79 W. Main Street and the planning resolution called the new site 1335 Manchester Avenue before construction. Current county and Sheriff pages use 1301 Manchester Avenue. Confirm 1301 before travel, mail or delivery.

Separate capacity from population
The official report lists 300 beds. Its 2025 average daily population was 122; the January 2026 report lists an average of 123 and the June 2026 report lists 132. These dated averages are not the current headcount or available-bed count.

Start with the Indiana jail portal
Search the Indiana County Jail Public Portal and choose Wabash County. Save the booked name, resident or booking number, booking date, charges, bond and court fields shown. The portal warns that status may not be current, so verify a critical result at 260-563-8891.
Sources: Indiana County Jail Public Portal · IDOC county jail roster directory · Sheriff contact page
No result may mean delay, release or another custodian
Try full and shortened names, check MyCase and VINE, then call 260-563-8891. A missing result can reflect booking delay, spelling, release, hospital care, youth placement, another county or transfer. Use IDOC, BOP and ICE only for their separate custody systems.

Match the question to the office
Use 260-563-8891 for custody and jail operations, 260-563-9223 for nonemergency central dispatch and 911 for immediate danger. Use the Clerk at 260-563-0661 for court records and Court Services at 260-563-8466 for probation or pretrial questions.

Visits and communication
Practical visits and communication instructions for the active adult jail.
Visits are video, not face-to-face
The official report says family and attorney visits are offered offsite and through onsite video booths with kiosk entry, and that no physical face-to-face visitation is allowed. Do not rely on old web pages describing in-person visiting at 79 W. Main Street.

Confirm the family schedule before booking
The current official report does not publish family video days, hours, duration, frequency or required lead time. Call 260-563-8891 before creating an account or traveling. Pastor visits are separately listed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; that is not the family schedule.

Ask about ID, minors and approval
The current county sources do not publish the family visitor-list process, accepted ID, alternate ID, rules for minors, proof of guardianship or post-release visitor restrictions. Ask 260-563-8891 for the rule tied to the person's current housing before adding a child or buying a session.
Sources: 2025 Wabash County Jail Information Report · Sheriff contact page
Confirm dress, belongings and disability access
The public report does not publish a family dress code, prohibited belongings, infant-supply exception, check-in cutoff or accommodation process for the video booths. Ask the jail what may enter the lobby and request an accommodation before travel if needed.

Keep professional and pastor access separate
Attorney visits use the video system according to the annual report. Pastor visits have their own Friday-Sunday window and the public report does not define long-distance, emergency, clergy-approval or special family visits. Counsel, clergy and families should confirm their own path at 260-563-8891.

Use JailATM support only for verified video issues
JailATM's direct video-support form lists Wabash County Jail, IN. For a failed session, save the resident name, scheduled date and time, device, error screen and receipt. Send technical or payment evidence through that form and send approval, housing or discipline questions to 260-563-8891. A refund rule is not published.

Current voice provider and account types remain unconfirmed
The report confirms phones in each cell and 14 inmate tablets, but it does not name the current voice provider, account types, call hours, number approval, monitoring notice or rates. Confirm the provider from the resident's current instruction screen or at 260-563-8891 before funding.

Document blocked calls before escalating
Save the called number, date, time, charge and exact error. Ask the vendor shown on the current account about billing or blocking and ask 260-563-8891 about housing, discipline or approved-number status. No local transfer, refund or post-release balance rule is published.

Do not assume tablets enable every service
The official report counts 14 tablets and says inmate requests and forms may be submitted electronically. It does not verify family email, Chirp, photo messages, pricing or delivery timing. Use the current resident menu and jail confirmation rather than inferring a communication product from the hardware.

Mail, photos and packages
Practical mail, photos and packages instructions for the active adult jail.
Confirm the current personal-mail format
Current official pages do not publish a personal-mail address, required resident identifier, envelope rule or scanning process. Do not reuse the former 79 W. Main Street address or treat the physical 1301 Manchester Avenue address as a verified mail destination. Call 260-563-8891 before mailing.

Counsel should confirm the privileged-mail path
The annual report confirms attorney video visits but does not publish the legal-mail addressee, address, privileged marking, original-document handling or electronic legal-mail process. Counsel should obtain the current protected instructions from 260-563-8891 before sending.

Money and commissary
Practical money and commissary instructions for the active adult jail.
JailATM is a facility lead, not a complete money policy
JailATM's direct support form lists Wabash County Jail, IN, but current county pages do not publish deposit methods, kiosk location or hours, identifiers, fees, limits or money-order rules. Confirm the exact deposit path at 260-563-8891 and verify the resident before submitting.

Commissary and package scope are unpublished
The official report identifies commissary funds and a commissary clerk but does not publish order days, delivery, spending limits, indigent supplies, approved packages or refund rules. Do not treat a generic JailATM product menu as proof that every product is enabled locally.

Preserve the payment evidence
For a failed or misapplied payment, keep the resident identity, confirmation, amount, method, time and error. Use the vendor contact on the receipt for processing and 260-563-8891 for identity or housing mismatch. Remaining-fund and chargeback procedures are not published.

Health, safety and complaints
Practical health, safety and complaints instructions for the active adult jail.
Use the jail for current clinical routing
The annual report says nursing coverage is provided 5 days each week with an on-call nurse 7 days a week and annual physical, dental and medical-screening services. The county approved a Quality Correctional Care contract in 2024, but has not established that vendor as current for 2026. Call 260-563-8891 for the present clinical route.

Give facts but expect privacy limits
For a nonemergency concern, call 260-563-8891 with the booked name, symptoms, medication, prescriber and timing. The county does not publish a family medical line, authorization form, response deadline or information-release rule. For immediate life-threatening danger use 911 and the jail.

Mental-health coverage exists, but the family route is open
The report says mental-health treatment is available 5 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a separate contract for 24-hour emergency and crisis care. It does not name the contractor or family escalation line. Report suicide, withdrawal or crisis details immediately to 911 and 260-563-8891.
Sources: 2025 Wabash County Jail Information Report · Sheriff contact page
Medication and glasses drop-off rules are unpublished
The annual report does not tell families whether prescription bottles, eyeglasses, contacts or medical devices may be dropped off or how prescriptions are verified. Call 260-563-8891 before bringing anything and ask staff to route clinical verification rather than leaving an item without approval.

Forms exist electronically; deadlines do not
The report says requests and forms may be submitted through inmate tablets, but does not publish grievance steps, deadlines, appeal levels or an external jail-oversight contact. The resident should keep submission dates and replies; family should ask 260-563-8891 for the current appeal path.
Sources: 2025 Wabash County Jail Information Report · Sheriff contact page
Request a jail-specific accommodation
Wabash County posts a general ADA complaint process, but not a jail coordinator, request form, response deadline or appeal route for custody services. Ask 260-563-8891 for the facility process before a visit and use the county ADA channel only for the county-service issue it covers.

Get the local PREA reporting route first
National PREA resources explain sexual-safety standards, but current Wabash sources do not publish an anonymous or third-party report number, outside reporting entity or audit. For immediate danger call 911 and 260-563-8891; ask the jail for its confidential local reporting and retaliation-protection process.

Courts, counsel and release
Practical courts, counsel and release instructions for the active adult jail.
Confirm the court and cause number
Use MyCase and the Clerk at 260-563-0661 to confirm the cause number, judge, hearing and orders. Circuit Court and Superior Court are at the Judicial Center and control case decisions; jail staff administer custody and should not be asked for legal advice.
Sources: Indiana MyCase · Wabash County Clerk · Wabash Circuit Court · Wabash Superior Court
Use the court for appointed counsel
Ask the assigned court or Clerk how to request or identify appointed counsel. The 2026 Public Defender Commission meets at the Judicial Center, but no public intake telephone is published in the reviewed sources. Attorney video and legal-mail details must be confirmed separately with 260-563-8891.

Verify the order before paying
Use MyCase or the Clerk to verify the current bond or release order and cause number, then ask 260-563-8891 where and when that exact order may be satisfied. Current official pages do not publish a complete cash, surety, card, online, fee or after-hours bond procedure.
Sources: Indiana MyCase · Wabash County Clerk · Wabash County Court Services · Sheriff contact page
Property release needs current authorization
The official report does not publish clothing exchange, property release, designee ID, pickup hours, unclaimed-property deadline or transfer handling. Ask 260-563-8891 what authorization is required before sending a pickup person to 1301 Manchester Avenue.
Sources: 2025 Wabash County Jail Information Report · Sheriff contact page
Do not promise a curb time
No current county source publishes a routine release hour, exit door, delayed-release notice, medication handoff or pickup waiting area. Verify the court order in MyCase and call 260-563-8891 close to the expected release; arrange flexible transport and do not wait in a restricted lane.

County custody can move without changing the case court
The January 2026 report records transports and IDOC fingerprints, showing that a Wabash case does not guarantee continued housing at this jail. Recheck the portal and call before every visit, mail or payment; use the receiving facility's rules after transfer.

Arrival, transit and reentry
Practical arrival, transit and reentry instructions for the active adult jail.

JCAP and education are real but not universal
The official report lists high-school equivalency work, substance-use classes, pastoral visits and JCAP. Court reentry is separate from jail release
Court Services lists a Re-Entry Court officer at 260-563-8466 and Community Corrections at 260-563-7547. These are court-supervision programs, not automatic jail discharge services. Ask counsel or the court whether an order refers the person before assuming eligibility.

Keep adjacent and same-name systems separate
Do not apply this guide to the former 79 W. Main jail, Community Corrections, probation, home detention, Work Release, youth cases, city police holds, other county jails, IDOC, BOP, ICE or Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Sullivan County. Confirm the present custodian first.

Finding someone held here
Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.

Before you travel, pay, or mail anything
Get two things first: which facility the person is actually in, and their booking or ID number. Almost nothing works without them. Then check this facility’s current instructions — rules and service providers change.
Clear information.
Clear boundaries.
Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.
Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?
No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.
Does posting bond mean the person comes home?
Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.
What should I confirm before visiting?
The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.
What if I find something that needs correcting?
Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
