Hamilton County Jail — Noblesville, Indiana
Hamilton County publishes actionable visit, mail, money, medical, roster, court and transit guidance. This guide preserves two conflicting visit schedules, a ViaPath/TextBehind mail attribution boundary, provider transition language and contact-owned gaps instead of inventing local procedures.

Use the adult Sheriff jail at 18102 Cumberland Road
Hamilton County Jail is the Sheriff-operated adult county jail system at 18102 Cumberland Road, Noblesville, IN 46060; the public jail number is 317-776-9800. The current Sheriff page describes a main facility with 440 beds and a female annex on the same grounds that houses up to 112 detainees; it does not publish a separate annex visitor address or entrance. Sheriff administration and records are next door at 18100 Cumberland Road, not the jail visitor door.
The jail also houses U.S. Marshals pretrial detainees as a bounded population; do not apply BOP prison rules. Keep the Juvenile Services Center, Community Corrections at 18104 Cumberland Road, Pretrial Services at 18106, courts, probation, municipal police, Indiana DOC, BOP prisons and ICE separate. Adults awaiting an Indiana state bed remain under county-jail rules until transfer is confirmed.

Start with the live roster and retain both IDs
Search the official current-inmates application by legal name. Open the detail record and retain the subject number, booking number, booking date, charge, bond, court, housing facility and scheduled release field. The county warns that roster data changes constantly and may not be current.
For no result, try spelling variants and allow for booking, transfer or release lag, then call 317-776-9800. Use MyCase for the case, IDOC for state custody, BOP for federal prison and ICE for immigration custody; none substitutes for a physical-custody check.

Set up contact without guessing
Reconcile the published schedules and confirm every visitor exception.
Book the published video visit; reconcile the two county schedules
The visitation policy says general-population video visits may run 7–11 a.m. and 1–4:30 p.m., last 30 minutes, begin on the hour or half hour, require an appointment, may be booked up to one week ahead and should be booked 24 hours ahead through the website or kiosk—not by phone. Segregation or discipline may limit availability.
The county jail directory separately displays Monday–Friday visitor windows of 8:30–10 a.m., 1:30–4:30 p.m. and 7:30–10 p.m. Because those windows do not match, select Hamilton County in the live platform and call the jail before travel; do not infer an evening video slot.

Prepare every adult and child before the session
Every visitor 18 or older needs a separate scheduled visit. One visitor is allowed per session except that a registered adult may bring at most two children. A child under 18 must be with a parent or guardian and present an ID card. Disturbance, unattended children, misuse, lewd conduct or a facility decision can end or deny a visit.
The public page does not list accepted adult ID alternatives, dress, infant supplies, former-inmate/probation restrictions, accessibility steps or long-distance exceptions. Ask 317-776-9800 before scheduling when any exception applies. Professional visits are appointment-only and normally 30 minutes unless approved otherwise.

Use the county-selected platform and preserve the failure record
The county names Telmate and links GettingOut; ViaPath now directs some users toward myViaPath. Create or verify the account, choose Hamilton County Jail, Indiana, add the correct person, schedule at least 24 hours ahead when possible, and test camera, microphone, browser/app and connection. Keep the confirmation and charge.
If the person is in court, the county says the session may be canceled or rescheduled. For a failed session, save the error, time, device, confirmation and screenshots; contact provider support at 866-516-0115 and the jail before repurchasing. Current price and credit rules must be checked in the live flow.

Separate calls, mail and money
Use the correct provider, address, identifier and failure path.
Expect outgoing collect calls and protect attorney contact
The county says ordinary calls are collect calls initiated by the incarcerated person; staff do not pass routine messages, and emergencies are directed through staff/chaplain. To block a number, call the jail at 317-776-9800.
For no-call problems, confirm the subject number, telephone number, facility selection, account balance, carrier blocks and country code with the live ViaPath/GettingOut account. Ask the jail and attorney how confidential legal calls are registered; do not discuss case strategy on an ordinary recorded call.

Treat digital messaging as a separate conditional product
The county expressly links GettingOut web/app messaging and says scanned personal mail is delivered on the tablet. That does not prove every attachment, photo, voicemail or tablet product is enabled for every housing status.
Before funding, confirm the recipient, product, fee, content limits, review time, rejection notice and refund/transfer treatment. For missing messages, preserve the transaction ID and screenshot; ask provider support first, then the jail whether the person or housing unit is restricted.

Send only scannable personal mail to Phoenix
Address personal letters, pictures and drawings exactly: Hamilton County Jail, IN; full inmate name and identifier; P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Put the sender’s full name and physical return address on the envelope. Do not send cash, checks, money orders, stickers or glitter; Polaroid and pornographic photos are prohibited.
The county labels the process “ViaPath Mail Scanning” but directs delivery problems to info@TextBehind.com. Keep a copy and tracking details. TextBehind’s general retention guidance is not a Hamilton-specific promise; ask support promptly if an irreplaceable original was sent.
Sources: Hamilton County inmate information · TextBehind postal-mail scanning help · TextBehind original-mail retention guidance · TextBehind unacceptable physical mail guidance
Do not send privileged or official papers to the scan box
The county says attorney-client privileged mail, third-party publisher mail and journals must follow facility guidelines and must not go to the Phoenix scan address. It does not publish the current direct legal-mail address, required labels, sender verification, witnessing procedure or treatment of originals.
Counsel or the court sender should call 317-776-9800 before mailing and document the staff confirmation. Families should never label personal correspondence “legal.” Keep a copy; do not combine money, photos or unrelated papers with privileged mail.

Use publisher-direct subscriptions only where the county allows them
Newspapers and magazines must come directly from publishers; the county says no reading material may be hand-delivered, subscriptions are limited to two per person, and religious material needs chaplain approval. Ordinary photos may be scanned, but Polaroids and pornographic photos are barred.
No current public rule confirms family-sent books, book quantities, hardcover/used-book limits, care packages or a rejection appeal. Call the jail before ordering and ask about vendor, format, invoice, gift note, quantity and what happens after rejection.

Use GettingOut or the lobby kiosk with the subject number
The county permits online commissary deposits through GettingOut and a jail-lobby kiosk that accepts cash or credit cards. The prisoner/subject identification number is required. The lobby window no longer takes money, and cash or money orders may not be mailed. Orders are placed Sunday and delivered Saturday according to the current county page.
Confirm the person, fee, limit, chargeback rule, deductions and release-balance process before paying. The county says a $2 hygiene pack is available at booking regardless of funds, but it does not publish the continuing indigent-supply procedure.

Protect health, safety and access
Relay urgent facts and preserve unpublished local procedures as contact-owned gaps.
Relay urgent health facts to 24-hour medical staff
The county says full-time medical staff are on site 24 hours. For an urgent new concern, call 317-776-9800 and give the legal name, subject number, housing if known, condition, symptoms, last medication/dose, allergies, date/time and callback number; ask that staff route it to medical and document the call.
Privacy rules may limit what staff can disclose, but they can receive information. Call 911 for an immediate emergency outside the facility. The county posts $15 copays for four listed services but shows no effective date; confirm current charges and exceptions rather than assuming.

Name suicide, withdrawal or victimization risk plainly
For suicidal statements, psychosis, dangerous withdrawal, assault or a credible threat, call the jail immediately, state the exact words and timing, and request supervisor and medical/mental-health review. Record who received the report and when.
The 2025 Sheriff report documents crisis-intervention training and jail-linked recovery/reentry programming, while the chaplains accept requests for personal and emergency support. These programs do not replace emergency medical response. Community crisis support is available through 988.

Confirm medication delivery before bringing anything
The county says people serving fewer than 31 days must supply their own medications and asks people with medical needs to contact medical staff at least 48 hours before a scheduled stay. It does not publish the family/pharmacy delivery door, packaging, controlled-medication, glasses/hearing-aid or record-release procedure.
Call 317-776-9800 before bringing medicine or equipment. Ask what prescriber/pharmacy verification is needed and how records are requested after release. Do not leave an item at an unconfirmed door.

Use the internal request path, then preserve the appeal question
No public jail page supplies the incarcerated grievance form, emergency grievance path, response deadline or appeal authority. The affected person should use the internal tablet/kiosk or paper request channel available in the housing unit and keep the request number, date, subject and response.
A family member can send a specific concern to Jail.Suggestions@hamiltoncounty.in.gov or call 317-776-9800, but that is not a substitute for the incarcerated person’s grievance. Ask the Jail Commander’s office who reviews an overdue response and what appeal step applies.
Sources: Hamilton County Jail · Hamilton County report an issue or complaint
Request jail accommodation and county review separately
Tell the jail the exact accommodation or language need before a visit, medication handoff or release. Ask for the accessible entrance, equipment, interpreter, effective-communication method and confirmation number. The county provides an ADA grievance form and a general ADA-issue route.
The Hamilton County Express can record lift, wheelchair, service-animal and other accessibility needs and offers translation on request. A transit accommodation is separate from a jail accommodation. No jail-specific ADA coordinator or response timeline was located.

Report immediate danger to jail staff; do not borrow the Community Corrections contact
For immediate sexual abuse, harassment or retaliation risk, call the jail at 317-776-9800 and ask for the shift supervisor; identify the person and the danger without delaying for proof. Preserve the time, name and response. The national PREA resource does not receive emergency reports.
The published hcccprea@hamiltoncounty.in.gov belongs to Community Corrections, a separate program at 18104 Cumberland Road, and is not presented as the jail’s PREA contact. No jail-specific third-party/outside reporting channel or retaliation-monitoring contact was verified; request it from the Jail Commander.

Coordinate case and release
Follow the court order and every holding authority, not a promise or roster field.
Use MyCase for the file, not custody or release time
Search Indiana MyCase by name or case number and retain the court, cause number, charges, hearing entries, counsel and filed bond/release orders. Court records describe the case; the jail roster and jail confirm physical custody.
Hamilton County Courts are at 1 Hamilton County Square, not at the jail. The prosecutor represents the State and says it cannot advise the defendant or family. Direct defense questions to appointed or retained counsel.
Sources: Indiana MyCase · Hamilton County Courts · Hamilton County criminal case process · Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney
Request appointed counsel through the court
Hamilton County publishes English and bilingual forms for an affidavit of indigency and request for appointed counsel. The Indiana public-defender guidance says trial, sentencing and direct-appeal questions go to the county office or court where charges were filed; the State Public Defender usually handles post-conviction matters.
Use the court and counsel shown in MyCase. Families should understand that counsel may not disclose confidential information without client permission. Ask the jail how an attorney schedules a professional visit and registers a confidential call.

Follow the filed order and pretrial screening—not a quoted amount alone
The roster may display bond and bail amounts, but the filed order and current court rules control. Hamilton County warns it does not accept cryptocurrency for bond. The local schedule subjects otherwise eligible detainees to pretrial screening and risk assessment, with court authority to order detention or conditions.
Before paying, confirm the cause number, bond type, tender, payee/location, receipt, separate-bond requirement, holds and release conditions with the court/jail. Pretrial Services is at 18106 Cumberland Road, 317-776-9798; it is not a bond-payment counter.

Get written approval before arranging pickup
The county says property not allowed into the jail is documented and stored for release at booking out. It does not publish a family property-release authorization, recipient ID rule, pickup hours, door or emergency exception.
The incarcerated person should submit the facility’s current release request if available. The recipient should call 317-776-9800 with the legal name and subject number, confirm approval and pickup door, bring accepted photo ID, and obtain a receipt. Do not arrive based only on a message from the person in custody.
Sources: Hamilton County inmate information · Hamilton County Jail
Confirm every case and holding authority before pickup
A scheduled release field is not a guarantee. Court changes, another county, Indiana DOC transfer, probation, immigration or another hold can change timing. The Sheriff transport unit does not disclose pickup dates or times and operates weekdays, excluding holidays.
Before travel, check MyCase and the jail roster, then call 317-776-9800 for release status and ask about other holds, property, medication, clothing and pickup door. Do not promise a release time or ask transit to wait on an unconfirmed discharge.

Ask for current jail program and community handoffs
The 2025 Sheriff report documents T.O.W.E.R. reentry support, housing, clothing/hygiene, employment and mental-health/substance-use referrals, plus education and recovery programming. Eligibility, enrollment and current availability are not public promises; the person should request a program/reentry referral inside.
For community follow-up, Navigate Hamilton County and Indiana 211 can screen for food, housing, behavioral health, benefits and transportation. Community Corrections, probation and Pretrial Services apply only when ordered or enrolled; they are not jail housing.

Separate jail records, court records and medical records
Use MyCase or the Clerk for court filings. Sheriff Records at 18100 Cumberland Road handles Sheriff records and publishes sheriff.records@hamiltoncounty.in.gov and 317-773-1872. Ask what can be released, identity requirements, fees, redactions and timing before submitting.
Medical records follow a separate authorization process that the jail does not publish. Ask jail medical staff who is the current records custodian and what form, identity proof and delivery method apply. A public-information request does not replace a medical authorization.

Plan the last mile
Reserve demand-response transport and confirm the exact jail door and return.
Use the jail address but confirm the correct public door
Use 18102 Cumberland Road, Noblesville, IN 46060 for the jail. Nearby 18100 is Sheriff administration/records, 18104 is Community Corrections and 18106 is Pretrial Services. Do not assume that a campus driveway or adjacent door serves jail visitors, legal mail, property or release pickup.
The county publishes a map link but not the visitor/release entrance, parking lot name, drop-off point, waiting area or accessible path. Call 317-776-9800 before travel and record the exact door and parking instruction.

Reserve Hamilton County Express to the exact jail address
Hamilton County Express is public, on-demand, curb-to-curb and mobility-accessible. Create a rider profile, then request 18102 Cumberland Road as the destination and confirm the accepted pickup/drop-off point with HCE and the jail. Reservations: 317-773-2688 weekdays 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; dispatch: 317-776-3226 weekdays 6 a.m.–6 p.m.; TTY 800-743-3333.
The current guide permits requests up to one week ahead and generally at least two hours ahead, but the window can change to 24 hours during low driver availability. An unmatched request is not an accepted ride; arrange backup. No fixed-route jail stop or live arrival was verified.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.
Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.
Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?
No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.
Does posting bond mean the person comes home?
Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.
What should I confirm before visiting?
The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.
What if I find something that needs correcting?
Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
