Arapahoe County, Colorado: a practical guide for families.

Sources reviewed

Adult Arapahoe County Detention Facility only. Youth, Aurora municipal, state, federal/ICE, court, probation and alternative-sentencing operations remain separate boundaries.

  1. Confirm custody

Use the county search and call 720-874-3500 when a record is unclear.

  2. Verify the visit

Use the actual provider account because county virtual and on-site instructions conflict.

  3. Separate transactions

Use the Phoenix scan for personal mail, TouchPay for trust and provider accounts for calls/video.

  4. Prepare the return home

Check every bond and hold, property, medication, transport and court condition.

PART 01

Find the person and the right destination

Custody search, intake, housing and facility boundaries.

Find the person before paying or traveling

Start with the county's Charges and Bonds search. It is available in English and Spanish. Match the booked name and identifying details; save the inmate identifier, active charges, bond information and next court details shown. A booking entry reports custody and allegations, not guilt.

  1. Try a shorter first or last name and common spelling variants.
  2. For a very recent arrest, ask the arresting agency whether booking is complete or the person is still at another agency.
  3. If the result is missing or ambiguous, call the Automated Information Center at 720-874-3500. A blank result does not prove release.

Do not fund a phone, visiting or trust account until the name and facility match. If the person may be in Aurora municipal, youth, state or federal custody, use the separate custodians described below.

One adult county jail, several nearby but different destinations

Arapahoe County Detention Facility: 7375 S Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112; 720-874-3500. The Sheriff's Office identifies this as its adult detention facility and says the facility operates 24 hours. That statement does not establish public lobby, property or service-counter hours.

PlaceUse
7375 S Potomac StreetAdult jail and visitor destination
7325 S Potomac StreetArapahoe County Justice Center, not the jail
7305 S Potomac StreetProbation, not the jail

Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center is a Colorado youth facility for ages 10–17; the Aurora Detention Center is a separate city jail. Colorado DOC and the Federal Bureau of Prisons run separate locators. Each of those custodians has its own visiting, mail and account procedures.

Intake and housing can change before the first call or visit

The adult facility receives county jail bookings, but the reviewed public pages do not publish a guaranteed intake duration, classification timetable, housing-assignment rule or family-accessible intake desk. A person may be in transport, booking, medical screening or classification before a searchable record, call, tablet or visit is available. Ask the arresting agency whether transfer occurred, then use the live search and 720-874-3500.

Save the booked name and inmate identifier rather than relying on a housing label, because an internal move can change service access. Confirm custody again before mail, a care package or a scheduled visit. The Sheriff's public page describes an onsite medical unit, but adult housing rules must not be applied to the neighboring youth center, Aurora municipal detention, state prison or federal/ICE custody.

PART 02

Visit and communicate

Conflicting visit instructions, approval, accounts and help.

Schedule the visit in the account—and recognize the county's conflict

The current county visitation page directs family and friends to remote video through GettingOut/ViaPath from a phone, tablet or computer: create an account, enter a date of birth confirming the visitor is over 18, select the person, and schedule an available session. The page's on-site FAQ says register and be approved before arrival, no more than 2 visitors per session, a visitor under 18 must remain with an adult, no more than 1 visit per visitor per day and no more than 1 inmate visited per day. It describes a visit as about 30 minutes.

A county-hosted rules PDF still says “on-site visitation ONLY,” lists Wednesday 6:30–9 PM and Saturday/Sunday 9 AM–noon and 6:30–9 PM, and requires scheduling at least 48 hours ahead. It also limits the person in custody to 3 scheduled on-site visits per week. This PDF limit does not establish the frequency allowed for remote visits. Because the live page promotes virtual visits while the PDF asserts on-site only, do not assume either mode or those windows without checking the actual account and calling 720-874-3500. A booked session is stronger evidence than an undated summary.

Sources: Current county visitation page · County-hosted visitation rules PDF · GettingOut visitor portal

Identification, minors, arrival and conduct

The current FAQ lists an unexpired ID card, driver license, military ID, passport or Mexican Matricula Consular. Only registered and preapproved visitors may participate. The county says arrive about 15 minutes early; the PDF says check in at least 10 minutes early. A late arrival receives only the time remaining and no extension. Keep the confirmation and arrive by the earlier 15-minute mark for an onsite booking.

  • A visitor under 18 must stay with an adult. The public material does not supply a complete local guardian, birth-certificate or infant-supplies exception matrix; confirm before bringing a minor.
  • For on-site visits, the PDF prohibits phones or other electronic equipment, weapons, food and drink in the booth, intoxication, nudity, profane/disruptive conduct and tampering. Inappropriate or offensive clothing can lead to refusal. These on-site device restrictions do not prohibit using the approved device for a remote visit.
  • Safety or operational needs can change or cancel a visit. Do not promise a make-up session.

Visitors with an accommodation need should call 720-874-3500 before travel; the reviewed pages do not document an accessible curb-to-door route or a public accommodation-request deadline.

When registration, scheduling or a session fails

  1. Confirm the person is still at Arapahoe County and the account uses the booked name.
  2. Check the account's approval and device permissions; take a screenshot of the error without exposing private credentials.
  3. For a county eligibility or housing restriction, call 720-874-3500. For platform, payment or connection help, use GettingOut help or call 866-516-0115.
  4. For a charged, failed session, preserve date, time, amount, transaction number and failure message before contacting the provider.

The public county rules do not promise an automatic credit for a short, missed or failed visit. Do not file a duplicate charge while a transaction is pending. Ask the provider whether it is pending, completed, reversed or eligible for review, and retain the case number.

Calls and tablets use ViaPath accounts—not the trust account

The county identifies ViaPath/GTL for telephone and tablet services. Friends and family may use ConnectNetwork for an AdvancePay prepaid account or receive eligible collect calls. Create the account for the phone number that will receive calls; follow the provider's identity, payment and blocked-number prompts. The county prints local calls as “$0.16 cents per minute” and international calls as “$0.60 cents per minute”, mixing dollars and cents. These figures are retained as source wording, not a confirmed charge. Ask ViaPath for the current per-minute price, taxes and fees before funding.

Fund online, through the provider app, at the lobby kiosk or by calling 800-483-8314. County-listed 24/7 telephone support is 866-230-7761. A trust/commissary deposit does not automatically fund AdvancePay, video, messages or tablet products. Tablets may offer messaging, education and entertainment, but availability can vary by housing and discipline; do not promise a device or service.

Treat provider balances and disputes as separate workflows

GettingOut states that a friends-and-family account becomes inactive after 180 days without activity unless governing law or the contract requires a different practice. Activity resets that period. The customer then has 90 days to request a refund before the remaining balance is converted to the provider’s free-calling program. Its refund help number is 866-516-0115. ConnectNetwork publishes its own refund path at 877-650-4249. These account rules do not establish that a particular failed visit or call is refundable.

For a dispute, record which product was charged, the destination phone number/account, date, time, amount and transaction ID. Contact the provider named on that transaction—not the jail trust-account vendor. Do not share passwords or one-time codes with anyone claiming they can restore access.

Attorney visits follow a separate professional process

Attorneys may visit in person without an appointment at any time according to the county page; bring a bar card and identification to the front desk. For online attorney visits, register for the provider account, select the client, have the bar card and ID ready, and email attorneyvisitation@arapahoegov.com. Counsel should confirm current access and confidential-room procedure directly before relying on it.

This professional path is not a family-visit exception. Families should not send privileged strategy through ordinary tablet messages or personal mail. The reviewed page does not publish a separate clergy, consular or licensed-professional exception matrix; those visitors should call 720-874-3500 for the current process.

PART 03

Mail, books and money

Scanning, privileged mail, packages, trust and commissary.

Personal mail is scanned at an out-of-state address

Address personal letters exactly as follows:

Arapahoe County Detention Center, CO
Booked name, inmate identifier
P.O. Box 247
Phoenix, MD 21131

The county says personal letters, pictures and drawings are digitally delivered through free Facility Messages on a ViaPath tablet. Use the booked name and inmate identifier; omit either and delivery can fail. Do not send cash, checks, money orders or original documents to this scanning address.

Effective December 1, 2022, the county says it no longer accepts original photos, computer-generated photos or internet material. It prohibits Polaroids, stickers, perfume/oils, glitter, ribbon/string/beads, laminated/plastic/cardboard items, food, electronic/musical cards, gang material, sexually explicit material and content facilitating crime, contraband, weapons, drugs or disruption. This is not an exhaustive rewrite of inspection authority.

The county also prohibits personal mail containing financial account details or security codes, identity documents or copies, birth/death certificates and property-tax records. Do not forward correspondence between incarcerated people through a third party or send material prohibited by a protection, restraining or no-contact order. Ask counsel about an approved confidential route for necessary case documents.

Sources: County inmate mail rules

Books, magazines and packages need advance approval

The county mail page says non-legal envelopes larger than 8×10 inches, packages, boxes, books, magazines and parcels require the inmate to obtain advance approval through the Mail Technician. Do not place an order until the person confirms approval and the Mail Technician's current sender/vendor and quantity rules. The page does not authorize family drop-off or establish that a retailer shipment is automatically accepted.

Do not include stationery, stamps, postcards, envelopes, blank paper, business cards, lottery material, heavy paper, batteries, glue, crayons, liquids, chemicals or foreign substances in personal mail. If an item is refused, keep the order and tracking record and ask 720-874-3500 how the sender is notified and whether a current review or return procedure exists; none was published on the reviewed page.

Sources: County inmate mail rules

Deposit to the trust account with the right identifier

Use the jail ID or full name and date of birth. The county lists 4 methods: lobby/Visitation Center kiosk, the GTL Financial/TouchPay portal, automated phone at 866-232-1899 using Site ID 280112, or approved mail. The lobby kiosk accepts cash or Mastercard/Visa credit/debit; online and phone deposits use Mastercard/Visa credit/debit; the county says electronic funds generally post within 24 hours. Support is 866-204-1603.

DepositPublished base fee
$0–$20$2.95
$20.01–$100$3.95
$100.01–$200$4.95

Card deposits add 3.5%; maximum transaction is $200. The county page oddly says mailed deposits may include cash but also warns it does not recommend sending cash and rejects personal checks. Use a traceable approved method and call before mailing any instrument. Save the receipt. Funds may satisfy booking, medical or older jail debt, so the amount deposited may not equal spending balance.

The county lists mailed deposits at ACSO Detention Facility – Accounts, 7375 South Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112. This is separate from the Phoenix personal-mail scanner. Its wording about cash is unclear and personal checks are excluded; confirm an acceptable instrument with jail Accounts before mailing. The published fee table applies to TouchPay deposits, not bond payments.

For an in-person cash deposit, the county visitation FAQ lists the Detention Facility front lobby from 7 AM–10 PM. That is a deposit-service statement, not confirmation that every public counter is open during those hours.

Sources: County inmate account services · TouchPay transaction portal · County visitation FAQ: cash deposits

Commissary and care packages are separate choices

The county says people may order commissary weekly for housing-unit delivery. Current product access, order day, spending limit and indigent threshold are not published on the reviewed commissary page. Ask the person to check the tablet/kiosk and do not promise a particular item.

Families may use iCare for up to 1 care package per week with a value up to $75. Orders must be placed by midnight Wednesday for the following week's delivery. The county warns that an over-limit order can be reduced while charging for delivered items. Confirm the inmate and facility in the portal before checkout; iCare is not the same as a general trust deposit.

PART 04

Care, consent and safety

Medical communication, records, grievances and PREA.

For health concerns, identify urgency and protect privacy

The Sheriff's Office says the jail has an onsite medical unit accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. It does not publish a family medical-message line, current sick-call steps, copay schedule or medication drop-off protocol on the reviewed public pages. The person inside should request care through the current housing-unit process and alert staff immediately to an emergency.

A family member should call 720-874-3500, identify the person by booked name and inmate identifier, describe the concern without demanding protected details, and ask how to send time-sensitive clinical information to the medical unit. For an immediate threat outside the facility call 911. Do not send medication, prescriptions or medical records by ordinary personal mail unless medical staff gives the exact approved route.

Sources: Sheriff Detention Services Bureau

Medication continuity and record release require confirmation

Prepare the medication name, dose, prescribing clinician/pharmacy, last dose and allergy history. Give that information through the route medical staff authorizes; family cannot direct treatment and custody staff may not disclose protected information without valid consent. The county's treatment page says its medication-assisted-treatment work can let qualifying patients continue MAT-related medication, but it does not create blanket eligibility or a family drop-off rule.

No reviewed public page states the standard supply of medication at release or a medical-record authorization form/address. Ask the medical unit for the current records authorization and fee before sending identification or payment. For continuity, the person should request discharge instructions and connect the next prescriber or pharmacy before release when possible.

Sources: County detention-based drug treatment · Sheriff Detention Services Bureau

Request the current grievance procedure and keep a record

The public policy portal is available, but the reviewed public pages do not state the inmate grievance steps, form/kiosk route, response deadline or appeal deadline. The person inside should request the current Inmate Information Handbook and ask housing staff which form or submission route currently applies, naming the event, date, people involved, requested remedy and documents. Keep copies or reference numbers when allowed.

A family member can call 720-874-3500 to ask how the person can access the process. For an external complaint about employee conduct, Sheriff Internal Affairs may be reached at 720-874-4014; that is not a substitute for urgent medical care, a required internal appeal or PREA reporting. A missing public deadline is not permission to delay—file promptly and ask for the written rule.

Sources: Sheriff public policy portal · Sheriff Detention Services Bureau

Sexual-safety reports have a separate protected route

The Sheriff's Office states zero tolerance for sexual abuse and sexual harassment. A person inside may report to staff. From outside, contact PREA Coordinator Darby Wiscamb at dwiscamb@arapahoegov.com. The county says a reporter may request anonymity and an investigation will occur; the reporter may be contacted while remaining anonymous.

For an immediate danger outside the facility, call 911. Do not submit the same sensitive facts on public social media. A PREA report is not the same as an ordinary grievance, medical request or criminal-court filing. The reviewed page does not publish a separate victim-advocate hotline, retaliation appeal clock or third-party status portal; ask the coordinator how follow-up is protected.

The county’s PREA incident form asks for the incident date and location, a description, the victim and suspect, and contact information. Save a copy and ask the coordinator how to submit it securely; the retrieved form does not print a mailing or email destination. The general police-reporting portal directs PREA users to the separate PREA information page; its ordinary no-known-suspect intake rules should not discourage reporting abuse to the coordinator.

PART 05

Court and returning home

Counsel, bond rights, property, release and reentry.

Court, public defense and the next hearing

The 18th Judicial District Arapahoe County court page is the current starting point for county cases. The Arapahoe County Justice Center is 7325 S Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112, next to but separate from the jail; court phone 303-645-6600, published hours Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:30 PM. The court lists a Saturday bond hearing at 1 PM; verify the docket, courtroom or remote instructions for the actual case rather than treating that as every person's hearing.

The Office of the State Public Defender is at 13356 E Briarwood Avenue, Centennial, CO 80112; 303-799-9001; Arapahoe@coloradodefenders.us. Eligibility and appointment must be established. A family member can relay booking, case and contact details, but should not press the person to discuss case facts on a recorded family call. Only the lawyer or court can interpret the actual order.

Confirm every bond, case and hold before paying

The county describes cash, property, surety, personal-recognizance and personal-recognizance-with-cosigner bonds. Property bonds are handled only by the Combined Court clerk during regular business hours—not at the jail. The jail and online payment path operate 24/7. Before paying, use the custody record and call 720-874-3500 to confirm the person, each case, exact amount, acceptable method and every other hold.

For an in-person payer, the county lists an unexpired government photo ID: a state driver license/ID, passport or Tribal ID. Cash may be accepted at counter/kiosk; money order and certified bank check are counter-only; Mastercard/Visa may carry 3.5%. The in-person instructions direct payers to call for an appointment; the online-surety instructions separately describe an optional review meeting. Ask which instruction applies to your payment method. A receipt is proof of payment, not a promise of immediate release. Never pay a stranger who guarantees release.

Sources: County bond information · County Charges and Bonds search

Colorado release rights change how fees should be explained

The county's current rights notice says only the bond amount is required to secure release; fees and debts are not preconditions. It identifies a $10 bond fee and up to a 3.5% credit-card fee as debt, not an additional amount that may block release, and says no other bond fees are authorized. The separate bond-method page also mentions extra booking and bond fees without making this distinction; use the rights notice and clarify any payment demand with a supervisor.

The county notice gives a 6-hour release rule once a personal-recognizance bond is set and the defendant has returned to jail. For cash bond, the bond must be set, the defendant must have returned to jail, and the defendant or surety must notify the jail that the bond is ready to be posted. Extraordinary circumstances can delay release; ask for the stated reason. Supervision conditions alone do not justify delay, except a hold of up to 24 hours when needed to fit required electronic monitoring. Multiple cases, warrants, other-agency holds or incomplete court paperwork can change the result. Ask which document or hold remains; do not convert the time rule into a guaranteed pickup time.

Bond payments must name the holding county, never the incarcerated person. The payer has a right to bond paperwork and the next court date. A surety cannot be required to apply posted bond money to the defendant’s debts; a defendant using their own money may choose this voluntarily. For a complaint about these rights, request the on-duty supervisor or contact Internal Affairs at 720-874-4014, internalaffairs@arapahoegov.com.

Pretrial supervision begins only when the court orders it

A judge may order Arapahoe County Pretrial Services, including sobriety monitoring, electronic monitoring, contacts and service referrals. It is not automatic for every release. Use the written court order and contact Pretrial@arapahoegov.com for the assigned process; the county also lists a mental-health navigator at 720-874-3350.

Before pickup, determine whether equipment installation, reporting or an address approval must happen first. Do not remove or alter equipment or substitute a family understanding for the written conditions. If an instruction conflicts with the bond paperwork, contact counsel, Pretrial Services or the court—not the jail's social-visit provider.

Sources: Arapahoe County Pretrial Services

Property release details are not published—confirm before a trip

The reviewed public pages do not state the current property-pickup hours, release authorization, required recipient ID, storage limit or unclaimed-property process. The person inside should ask staff how to authorize release and what property is eligible. The recipient should call 720-874-3500 before traveling and ask for the exact pickup window and door; bring unexpired government photo ID and the inmate identifier if instructed.

Do not use Sheriff Records, the court or probation address as a property counter. Do not assume a released person exits at the visitor entrance. For essential ID, keys or medication, ask whether the item travels with the person at release or needs separate authorization, and record the staff instruction.

Sources: Sheriff Detention Services Bureau · Directions to the jail

Build a release plan around conditions, not an estimate

  1. Confirm all cases, bonds and outside holds and whether the court has returned the order.
  2. Ask whether pretrial equipment or supervision must begin before release.
  3. Confirm clothing, property, remaining trust balance and medication/discharge instructions.
  4. Choose a pickup point only after staff confirms it; keep the driver reachable because timing changes.

Victims may use the automated information line at 720-874-3500 and press 7 for release-notification information. That is not a public guarantee of a release time. The county does not publish a general exit door, pickup window or trust-balance payout method on the reviewed pages. If release is delayed beyond the applicable posted rule, ask what hold, court document or extraordinary circumstance is recorded and contact counsel.

Education, treatment, faith and library work happen inside

The county reports more than 75 weekly programs, including English- and Spanish-language Alcoholics Anonymous, education/GED, public-health classes, chaplain services and Jail Based Behavioral Health Services (JBBHS). JBBHS includes assessments, individual/group work, reentry case management and follow-up for as long as 1 year after release for participating clients. Program contacts are ACSOPrograms@arapahoegov.com, 720-874-2527 and 720-874-3528.

Arapahoe Libraries says its jail service includes book carts, fiction/nonfiction, Spanish and urban titles, holds, law-library requests through the kiosk, Lexis access and reentry packets. Participation, timing and housing access are not guaranteed. The person inside should request the specific program through the current unit process.

Sources: County inmate programs · County detention-based drug treatment · Arapahoe Libraries jail services

Alternative Sentencing is a separate court-approved program

The Alternative Sentencing Program is not ordinary jail housing and is not automatically available. The current page describes GPS Work Release for approved employment up to 60 hours per week, Home Detention and Judicial House Arrest without GPS. A judge's authorization does not itself guarantee program acceptance; an application and Sheriff's approval are still required.

Published program categoryDaily fee
Student/unemployed job search$12 + $5.10 GPS
Work ReleaseDouble hourly rate + $5.10 GPS
Home Detention$20 + $5.10 GPS
Out-of-county$70 + $5.10 GPS

Confirm the current calculation before relying on it. Contact 720-874-3302 or ASPschedule@arapahoegov.com; the county says the program is available 24 hours. The posted adjustment guide is dated July 2023, so use it only after staff confirms its current instruction. Do not apply program parking, medication, property or account rules to everyone in the main detention facility.

Connect work, housing and care before release when possible

For a participating JBBHS client, ask the assigned case manager for the written next appointment and medication/benefit plan before release. For employment, Arapahoe/Douglas Works! is at 6974 S Lima Street, Centennial, CO 80112; 303-636-1160; published center hours Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:30 PM. Services are separate from the jail and require their own registration.

For housing navigation, the county lists crnavigation@arapahoegov.com and voicemail 303-738-8088. The program says it does not provide immediate housing or motel/hotel vouchers and serves eligible adults/couples without children under 18; Family Navigation is 303-636-1170. Contact is not a bed reservation or eligibility approval. Build a one-page plan with ID, court/pretrial contact, transportation, benefits, prescription/pharmacy, housing call and employment appointment. For a behavioral-health crisis in the community, call or text 988; call 911 for immediate danger.

PART 06

Plan a necessary trip

Parking, transit evidence and practical nearby contacts.

Use the signed Visitor Parking Lot; do not infer the public door

County directions say to take Arapahoe Road from I-25, travel east to Potomac Street, then south about 3/4 mile to the facility at 7375 S Potomac Street. Follow signs to the Visitor Parking Lot. The reviewed page does not publish a parking price, time limit, overnight rule, accessible stall inventory or an accessible curb-to-door path.

The facility's 24-hour operation does not mean every public counter or lobby service is open all day. Before a time-sensitive property, bond, attorney or social visit, confirm which entrance and service hours apply at 720-874-3500. Court at 7325 and probation at 7305 are separate buildings; do not leave a vehicle in a different agency's lot based only on proximity.

Route 153: exact stops, weekday departures and weekend returns

Route 153 Chambers Road serves both Fremont Pl & S Potomac St stops in RTD’s current schedule. Use the stop number and destination sign to choose your direction: 21940 is northbound toward Peoria Stn via Chambers; 21945 is southbound toward Arapahoe Station. The two stops have the same name. RTD describes vehicles locally traveling southeast at 21940 and west at 21945, so the route’s northbound/southbound label alone can be confusing at this intersection.

The tables below contain every scheduled Route 153 departure at these two stops for September 28–October 4, 2026. All seven dates were checked against RTD’s current service calendar and exceptions; the weekday departures also match the current northbound and southbound PDF timetables. The feed is effective September 27, 2026–January 2, 2027, but later individual service dates have not been checked here. Times are local Denver time, using a 24-hour clock. Read 18:00 with minutes 11, 45 as 6:11 PM and 6:45 PM. A dash means no scheduled departure in that hour in this timetable; it is not a live cancellation report.

Return-trip check: some Route 153 trips end before reaching Fremont/Potomac. These tables exclude those trips. At stop 21945, the last scheduled departure toward Arapahoe Station is 22:52 on weekdays, 23:51 on Saturday and 22:53 on Sunday for the dates listed above. The last departure at 21940 toward Peoria Station is 23:33 on weekdays, 23:40 on Saturday and 23:42 on Sunday. Allow for the jail’s release or visiting process separately; these are bus-stop times, not guaranteed departure times from the jail.

Conflicting county directions: the county directions still name Route 66 near Fremont/Potomac. RTD’s current feed identifies only Route 153 at the two named stops above. This does not determine whether Route 66 serves another nearby stop. Plan to the correct jail address, 7375 S Potomac Street, and check the 21940 live stop page, 21945 live stop page or RTD route schedule for current alerts and trip planning before leaving.

The final walking route remains unverified. The stop data do not establish a continuous accessible sidewalk, a safe crossing or the correct public entrance at the jail. RTD lists wheelchair boarding at both stops, but that does not verify the path between a stop and the jail. Ask RTD to confirm the stop and trip, and the jail to confirm its visitor entrance and accessible approach. Customer Care: 303-299-6000, TTY 711; Monday–Friday 6 AM–8 PM, Saturday 9 AM–6 PM, Sunday closed. These are published schedules, not live arrivals or door-to-door service.

Finding someone held here

Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Get two things first: which facility the person is actually in, and their booking or ID number. Almost nothing works without them. Then check this facility’s current instructions — rules and service providers change.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
