Confirm the jail and booking number before reserving, traveling or sending money. This guide brings together all five published jail schedules and separates personal mail, legal mail and accounts, with specific source conflicts that still require confirmation.

JAIL411 / FAMILY FIELD GUIDE

Riverside County jail family guide

Sources reviewed

Five adult Sheriff jails; juvenile, municipal, state, federal and immigration custody remain separate.

  1. Locate the person

Save the current booking number, jail and unit.

  2. Reserve with the jail

Call 9 AM–5 PM one day before; confirm check-in and minor rules.

  3. Use the right service

Personal letters to Utah; special mail to jail; separate payment accounts.

  4. Plan both directions

Confirm the stop/lot, final access and return after the visit.

PART 01

Locate and identify custody

Find the person and distinguish the five adult county jails.

Find the current jail and booking number

Use the Sheriff’s live inmate search. Enter the last name; add the first name and date of birth in MM/DD/YYYY format to narrow results. Compare identity details before copying the booking number. Save the current facility, housing/unit or dayroom if shown, case number, next court listing and any release entry. A booking number identifies this stay; it is not the criminal court case number.

  1. No result? Check spelling, compound surnames and the date format. Try a broader last-name search, then distinguish people by birth date and other details.
  2. For a very recent arrest, ask the arresting agency whether transport and booking are complete. For an existing booking that disappears, call the last jail and ask about transfer or release. The Sheriff publishes no guaranteed search refresh interval.
  3. A blank search or a release notation is not a confirmed pickup appointment. Recheck the housing facility before a visit, money order or legal mailing. For a missing court case, use the court process in the final chapter.

This guide covers adult Riverside County Sheriff custody. Juvenile halls, city temporary holding, CDCR state prisons, federal custody and immigration detention use different records and rules. Ask the arresting agency which system holds the person before opening another locator.

Five jails; one current housing assignment

Use the street addresses below for travel. Personal letters go to Utah; legal mail, books and money orders use the separate mailing table. Call the visiting number to reserve, not the general jail number.

Old Indio identity: this directory retains the legacy “Riverside County Indio Jail” route for people who already have that link. The current Sheriff facility is John J. Benoit Detention Center at 82675 St Hwy 111. The Sheriff still explicitly prints “Indio Jail” on its PO Box mailing instructions and service-hour tables. Keep that postal label when addressing the specified mail. Do not travel to the old 46-057 Oasis Street address still found in older health materials.

Cois M. Byrd is also described in older material as Southwest Detention Center. At the Auld Road campus, the jail address ends in -B; Southwest Justice Center is 30755-D Auld Road. A court appearance and a jail visit are separate trips with separate admission rules.

PART 02

Arrange a visit

Housing schedules, screening, children, video and access needs.

Reserve by housing unit; compare every jail’s schedule

Call the visiting desk from 9 AM–5 PM one day before the intended visit. Tell staff the full name, booking number, housing unit/cell or dayroom, visitor names and any accommodation needs. Ask for the assigned time, check-in deadline, entrance and confirmation details; write them down. A matrix identifies possible windows, not an appointment. Transfers, security restrictions or lack of space can change availability.

The system rule is 2 visits per week, approximately 45 minutes each; facility pages permit 2 visitors per inmate. Smith’s actual matrix uses 40-minute blocks, which are reproduced below. Do not extend a Smith appointment based on the general page. All times below are local California time (AM before noon, PM after noon).

Smith explains that for units 15–17 the first 2 cell digits identify the unit and the last 2 identify the dayroom: 1–16=A, 17–32=B, 33–48=C, 49–64=D, 65–80=E, 81–96=F. The page heading says 12–17, but that explanation says 15–17; confirm dayrooms for 12 and 14. No explicit unit 13 table is published. Ask staff for the exact assignment.

If plans change, call the same visiting desk to cancel or reschedule. Recheck the housing assignment before leaving. The public rules do not publish a universal arrival cutoff, standing approved-list limit, or a guarantee that an interrupted visit is replaced. Ask the desk those specific questions, especially after a transfer or a denied visit.

Identification, children, clothing and belongings

Bring valid government-issued photo identification. Staff may search visitors and belongings and check warrants. The name used to reserve should match the ID. Only visit the person for whom you registered; leaving the visiting area ends that visit.

FacilityPublished minor ruleWhat to resolve before travel
Blythe / John J. BenoitUnder 18 accompanied by parent or legal guardianAsk what birth/guardianship documents are required and whether each child or infant counts toward the 2-person cap.
Cois M. Byrd / Smith / PresleyFacility pages say visitors must be 18 or olderThe system page allows accompanied minors “if applicable.” Obtain the facility’s current rule before bringing a child.

The official pages do not specify infant diaper/bottle quantities, stroller storage, a child ID exemption or a general prior-conviction/parole approval procedure. Tell the desk about these circumstances before reserving; do not treat silence as permission. Ask what clearance or paperwork is required and who can authorize an exception.

  • Cover the torso and lower/mid body. Dresses, skirts, pants, shorts and any slit must be no more than 2 inches above the knee while standing. Avoid gang references, sexual or lewd text/images and offensive messages.
  • Keep alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, knives, cameras and tear gas/OC spray out of the visiting area. No smoking in the jail or lobby; no food or drink in the lobby or visiting area. Ask specifically about medically necessary items and infant feeding.
  • Travel with only the items the desk authorizes. Public restroom availability does not establish lockers or secure phone storage. Arrange storage before arriving.
  • For attorney, clergy or other special circumstances, contact the housing jail to request a special visit. Approval and timing are facility decisions. Security staff may end a visit and direct visitors to leave.

Video service: verify the specific jail before paying

County contract records identify iWebVisit at John J. Benoit and Larry D. Smith; the 2025-06-10 amendment extends cloud hosting through 2027-06-30. This establishes the vendor at those facilities, but does not itself establish home-video eligibility, a public booking window, current session prices or a free on-site allowance. The current jail visitor pages still direct families to telephone reservations. We found no equivalent current primary-source remote-video authorization for Blythe, Cois M. Byrd or Presley.

  1. For Benoit call 760-863-8540; for Smith call 951-922-7540. Ask whether your person’s unit has public remote video, on-site video only, or another visit format; whether a separate visitor approval is needed; and which exact booking service to use.
  2. If staff confirms iWebVisit remote access, open the provider service, register your own account and select the exact facility and person. Confirm the date, local time, length, total price and cancellation terms before payment. Save the booking confirmation.
  3. Use a supported device with camera, microphone and stable internet; allow browser permissions and test them before the session. Follow the current provider prompts for joining. Do not apply an old third-party claim about unsupported phones to today’s service.
  4. For a frozen screen, absent participant or failed connection, contact iWebVisit support while the problem is happening. Give facility, visitor account, booking/session details, error message and time; keep screenshots and payment receipt. Published support is live chat or support@iwebvisit.com, Monday–Saturday 5 AM–10 PM Pacific.
  5. Cancel through the confirmed provider process as soon as plans change and retain the cancellation number. Ask support to classify a facility cancellation versus your own device failure and state the credit/refund decision in writing. A Riverside-specific cancellation cutoff and refund entitlement were not verifiable from the public primary sources; do not assume a replacement or cash refund.

Arrange access and special visits before the trip

Call the facility’s visiting desk while arranging the visit and describe the access you need: wheelchair route, seated screening, hearing or vision communication, interpreter, medical device, service animal, infant feeding or a caregiver. Ask staff to confirm the accessible public entrance, how to get from the designated parking/stop to it, what may enter, and whether extra check-in time is needed. Request a supervisor if the ordinary booking answer does not resolve the access question.

Smith explicitly identifies accessible parking west of the main gate. All five facility pages say public restrooms are available. Those statements do not establish the details of accessible screening, video captions, a particular visitor device, or a language-assistance appointment. The public pages do not publish a countywide visitor accommodation form or deadline. The responsible first contact is the housing jail’s visiting desk; the jail commander handles special-visit questions. For a person in custody, report the functional need to housing staff and health staff and ask the person’s attorney to follow up if access to care or counsel is affected.

Telephone setup, blocked calls and unused funds

County records identify Securus for the five-jail telephone system. The verified amendment runs through 2026-10-31; possible later extensions require written action. Check the current facility/provider selection when opening an account, especially after that date.

  1. Open Securus consumer services or call 800-844-6591. For AdvanceConnect, use the account holder’s accurate contact information and the actual number that will receive calls. Select Riverside County and the correct person/facility where required; review the displayed rate and fees before funding.
  2. Keep your phone able to receive unknown calls and follow the automated acceptance instructions. If calls fail, check the receiving number, account balance, payment status and blocks with Securus. Ask the jail whether the person has phone access or a housing/security restriction; the vendor cannot override jail access decisions.
  3. For a dropped or charged-but-failed call, record the date, time, receiving number and transaction/call reference. Request a billing review through Securus. No countywide calling hours, call-length limit or current per-minute rate was verified; do not import state-prison free-call rules.

Treat ordinary family calls as monitored rather than confidential legal communication. Securus’ California attorney list directs Riverside attorneys to SITE-B@Riversidesheriff.org for approved-number handling. Counsel should arrange protected contact before discussing a case; simply using an attorney’s phone does not establish registration.

Close AdvanceConnect and request a refund

Check the mailing address first. The provider’s published online path is My Settings → Security → Delete Account, which closes access to prepaid services. Calls from the previous 24 hours are deducted. A qualifying balance is returned to the last card in 2–3 business days, although statement posting can take a billing cycle; Western Union, MoneyGram or mailed payments use a check in 2–3 weeks. For a closure problem call 800-844-6591. Securus Debit belongs to the incarcerated person and is not refundable to the donor. Do not delete an account until any other linked services and scheduled sessions have been addressed.

Write your full return name and address and the exact booked first/last name and booking number. No aliases or address labels. Missing or mismatched booking information can cause return; the Sheriff says mail without a return address is placed in property. Use standard white single-ply paper. Do not send original irreplaceable documents as ordinary correspondence.

Books, periodicals, money orders and legal/special mail use the housing jail below, with the person’s full name and booking number above the jail name. These are mailing addresses, not necessarily visitor entrances.

Legal and special mail handling

Eligible special correspondence includes courts/judges, state or federal officials, custody/probation/parole officials, State Bar attorneys, the facility commander and the corrections oversight body named in the policy. Mark attorney correspondence clearly “Legal Mail”. The attorney return address must show law-firm name, attorney’s full name and the complete firm address; staff may verify it. The Sheriff says properly marked legal mail is opened and inspected in the person’s presence. Legal-size paper is restricted to attorneys. Outgoing legal mail can be inspected in the sender’s presence and then sealed. A family letter does not become privileged merely by writing “Legal Mail.”

For a rejected or missing item, retain the envelope, return explanation, date sent, tracking and a copy of the contents. Contact the housing jail’s mail staff with the booking number and ask which rule applied, whether it was returned or stored, and how the sender or recipient can seek review. The current pages do not state a formal mail-appeal deadline or Jailhouse Mail original-paper retention period. The old regular-mail wording about tearing off a return address for delivery is not a clear explanation of today’s Utah processing; ask before sending originals.

Photos, books, packages and common rejections

  • Photos: at most 10 per envelope, no larger than 4×6 inches. No Polaroids, nudity, sexual content, violence or gang signs. Send with compliant personal mail to Utah.
  • Books and periodicals: new, prepaid and sent by USPS directly from the publisher or a verifiable reputable internet/mail-order retailer or bookstore. Maximum 3 books at once; no used, hardcover or leather-bound books. Send to the jail’s special-mail address.
  • No obscene material, violence-promoting content, gang/racist content or illegal gambling material. Check the title and format before ordering; a store’s willingness to ship does not guarantee jail acceptance.
  • Ordinary incoming mail may not include greeting/post/business cards, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, blank stationery/envelopes, postage or phone cards, food/candy, flowers or care packages.
  • Avoid crayon, paint, colored pencil, marker/felt tip/highlighter/gel ink, lipstick, glue/white-out, heavy stock, glitter, tape, stickers, metal/plastic, ribbons or paper clips. Dirty, stained or perfumed material is prohibited.

The Sheriff links an Access catalog service, but a current Riverside package menu, order limit and cycle were not confirmed in the primary material reviewed. Do not mail a homemade package. Before paying a vendor, verify the selected facility, current eligibility, delivery cycle and refund/rejection terms. Noncriminal contraband can be returned; illegal contraband can lead to criminal consequences. For a rejected book, use the mail-review process and the retailer’s return terms separately.

Trust deposits, posted fees and missing money

Use Access Corrections or 866-345-1884 for the jail trust account. Telephone service is published as 24/7 and bilingual. Online/phone use Visa or Mastercard; the FAQ excludes government benefit/EBT cards. Register, accept the terms, select Riverside County and the correct booked person, review the total and keep the receipt.

A lobby kiosk at any Riverside jail can credit a person at another county jail. Kiosks accept cash/cards, do not give change and require at least a $5 bill for cash. The Sheriff publishes a $200 maximum account balance, with supervisor-approved exceptions and exceptions for booking/transfer funds, inmate payroll and government checks. A money order that would exceed the limit is returned.

By mail: only a United States Postal money order, with the person’s name and booking number on the front, sent to the jail’s special-mail address. No cash or personal checks. Do not send money orders to Utah.

  1. The FAQ estimates posting 5–10 minutes after receipt, not a guaranteed deadline. Check Access transaction history: pending differs from sent. Access can report its own payments but cannot show the actual jail trust balance.
  2. For a missing deposit, keep the amount, time, receipt, transaction number and booking identity. Ask Access about authorization/status, then the housing jail’s trust/commissary staff about crediting. A failed card authorization is described as returning within 3 banking days; contact the provider/card issuer if it remains unresolved.
  3. A chargeback may restrict further deposits until resolved with Access. Do not repeatedly repay without asking whether an earlier authorization is pending.
  4. If the person lacks money for hygiene or correspondence, have them request the current indigent supplies process from housing/commissary staff. The reviewed county pages do not publish the indigent balance threshold, look-back period, kit contents, frequency or debt deductions. Ask for that written rule; a family deposit is not a substitute for reporting an unmet basic need.

Unused trust funds are returned to the person on release; the public FAQ does not establish a universal cash/check/card method. If money was left behind, use the unclaimed-money process in the release chapter. Trust refunds and Securus refunds are separate.

For downtown Riverside, the city’s posted garage rate is $1.25 per 30 minutes, $20 daily maximum, operating 24/7; its nightly entry rate for 7 PM–3 AM is $15. City lot/on-street rates are $1.50 per 30 minutes during posted weekday paid hours; the Justice Center zone begins at 7 AM rather than 8 AM and ends at 7 PM. Event prices and private/county-operated structures can differ. The city’s app-based free-time offers have conditions; do not assume automatic free jail parking. Check the city parking service and signs on arrival.

Confirm your appointment before paying for parking. Allow time to walk from the public lot and complete screening. Sheriff pages do not give a verified walking duration, a guaranteed rideshare staging area or a release pickup door. Ask the visiting desk for the entrance for your appointment and the release desk for pickup; those may differ.

PART 05

Care and support in custody

Clinical information, complaints, safety and programs.

Health, medication history and urgent concerns

For an immediate concern about a person in custody, call the housing jail and ask for the watch commander and health/mental-health staff. State the person’s name, booking number, location and the specific risk or symptoms; ask staff to check on them now. Do not wait for a mail delivery, a routine visit or a web complaint. If an emergency is unfolding in front of you, call 911.

RUHS lists Detention Health Services at 951-955-4494. Its detention mental-health contacts below are clinical referral routes, not visiting reservation lines. Verify the recipient and fax before transmitting sensitive information.

Indio conflict: the current RUHS mental-health page still lists the old 46-057 Oasis Street location and 760-393-3308; the family brochure revised 2021-09 lists 760-393-3317. Do not assume either is the current Benoit clinical intake. Call 760-863-8252 to establish the team and delivery route first.

  1. Prepare a concise health history: full legal name, date of birth, booking number, housing jail, diagnoses, current prescriptions with dose/timing, allergies, adverse reactions or ineffective prior medicines, prescriber name/contact, and recent threats/attempts or urgent medical conditions.
  2. Ask health staff how to submit that history securely. The RUHS family brochure tells families to provide medical information rather than details of the alleged crime. Ask the person to request detention behavioral-health services directly as well.
  3. For outside medicines, glasses, assistive devices or court-related medical documentation, call the jail before bringing anything. The property page routes medication delivery questions to each facility; it does not authorize an unannounced drop-off or promise that outside medication will be dispensed.
  4. Ask the person to sign the current release-of-information authorization naming the family member and the information staff may discuss. Relaying useful information does not by itself authorize staff to disclose the patient’s records. RUHS privacy rules allow specified treatment/safety disclosures; ask the clinical team about the applicable consent process.

For help advocating as a family, RUHS Family Advocate Program: 800-330-4522; the brochure identifies free support and Spanish assistance. Behavioral Health general access is 800-499-3008. These are support/referral services, not an emergency jail welfare-check substitute.

Grievances, staff complaints and sexual-abuse reports

For a routine custody problem, the person in jail should request the current grievance form and orientation instructions from housing staff. Identify the incident, dates, location, people involved, prior attempts to resolve it and the requested remedy; keep copies and responses. Ask for the current filing and appeal deadlines. The public material reviewed did not establish current Riverside grievance time limits or the emergency grievance process. A family complaint does not automatically replace an inmate grievance or preserve its deadline.

Anyone may report Sheriff employee misconduct by phone, in person, in writing or through the civilian complaint form. Start with the facility where it occurred or ask for Professional Standards. Include contact details if you want follow-up, concrete facts and available evidence; avoid sending medical records in an ordinary public complaint unless the investigator provides an appropriate route. The published complaint process calls for investigation and notice of outcome where possible.

For sexual abuse or sexual harassment in custody, use the Sheriff’s PREA report form or contact jail staff/another trusted official immediately. The form requests incident time and facility, victim name/booking/cell, suspect information and what happened; it allows unknown details. A family member or other third party can report. Tell staff if the person fears retaliation, needs immediate separation or medical attention, and ask what protective follow-up will occur. Do not wait for all fields to become known before reporting urgent danger.

Keep separate records for safety reports, clinical care complaints and ordinary service failures. A missed deposit goes to Access and jail trust staff; a phone charge goes to Securus. RUHS privacy complaints can go to 951-486-4659 or compliance@ruhealth.org. For continuing detention or rights concerns, share the dated record with the person’s lawyer.

Education, ReSET and the work-release alternative

The Sheriff’s Inmate Training and Education Bureau (SITE-B) offers education and reentry preparation. ReSET works on the person’s release plan, including housing, employment, finances, health, transport, education and family connection. Ask housing/program staff how to request an assessment and which classes are actually offered in the current unit. Examples published by the Sheriff include culinary training with College of the Desert at Benoit and barista training at the Banning campus associated with Smith. A program description does not guarantee placement, transfer, certification or sentence credit.

Court-ordered Work Release Program

This is an alternative sentence program involving assigned manual work, not permission for a family member to remove someone for their usual job. The Sheriff says participants report as ordered with identification and a $90 administrative fee, must be physically capable of the work and have reliable transportation. The published schedule is 1–2 days per week, 8–10 hours per workday, with a workday counting as a sentence day. Enrollment includes required forms, rules, liability waiver, selected workdays and a promise to appear. Ask the sentencing court and program staff whether the person is approved, where to report, payment arrangements and any medical accommodation; do not assume availability changes a current custody order.

Court, property and release

Counsel, bail questions, pickup and the first day out.

Court dates, courtroom access and a lawyer

Use the case number from booking paperwork to check Riverside Superior Court public access and the hearing calendar. Confirm the department, building, date and appearance method with counsel or the criminal clerk. The portal is an informational service, not the certified court record. A missing search entry can reflect filing, indexing, access restrictions or a different court; take the arrest/release paperwork to the clerk rather than assuming there is no hearing.

Published clerk telephone hours are Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–2 PM, excluding court holidays. Buildings generally list 7:30 AM–4 PM; Blythe opens Tuesday, Thursday and Friday only. Court hours and hearings are different from jail visiting hours. If your name is absent from the posted calendar on the required day, report to the criminal clerk with ID and release papers, notice to appear or bail receipt. Ask about interpreter needs in advance; do not substitute a family member’s informal translation for an arranged court interpreter.

At arraignment, a person who cannot afford counsel can request a court-appointed lawyer; the judge decides appointment. If the Public Defender is assigned, contact the relevant office below with the case number. A family member cannot appoint that office independently or assume its lawyer represents them too. Office hours are Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM.

The court does not provide a family jail visit in the courtroom holding area. Coordinate attorney visits with the housing jail, and protected attorney phone access through the registration route in the phone topic. For disability accommodations at court, request the court’s process early; courthouse pages direct MC-410 requests for hearing assistance at least 5 court days ahead when possible. That court form is not a jail visitor authorization.

Authorized property pickup and special deliveries

The person in custody must sign a withdrawal slip naming the recipient; the recipient must show identification. Ordinary pickup is limited to personal property other than clothing and money. Ask the person to request authorization first, then call the housing jail to confirm it has reached the property desk and what ID the named recipient should bring.

Do not leave bags, medication or papers without staff acceptance. If property is held as evidence by an arresting agency, ask that agency for its release process; a jail withdrawal slip does not release evidence.

Release decisions, bail and the actual pickup

Start with the housing jail and the person’s lawyer. Ask which cases, warrants or holds control custody, whether a release order has arrived, whether any other agency will take custody, and what remains before physical release. A court order, payment receipt or online release entry is not a guaranteed departure time. No universal Riverside processing time or pickup door was established by the public sources.

Understand the court’s published release categories

The court-linked schedule distinguishes CR (cite and release) and BR (book and release), ordinarily using a signed promise to appear without bail when no exception applies; PAR (pre-arraignment review) and AR (arraignment review) involve scheduled bail and judicial review. Other cases, holds, prior failures to appear and category exceptions can change the result. Do not calculate eligibility from one charge label alone.

Source conflict reviewed 2026-09-28: the linked PDF is titled 2025, says effective 2025-10-20 on its cover and 2025-10-24 in its introduction. It says PAR is treated as AR until supporting technology is implemented, without giving that implementation date. Separately, the 2026-01-28 Sandoval ruling granted limited relief concerning pre-arraignment detention after warrantless arrests for 19 specified offenses; it did not grant every requested form of relief. The ruling directs a revised proposed order; it is not a complete current release checklist. A later official appellate record, S297895 linked to E088847, reports denial of the petition and stay on 2026-08-26. The accessible docket does not establish which trial order that petition challenged, so the denial is not treated here as proof of the January ruling’s present implementation. We did not obtain the final operative order with its 19-offense list or a current Sheriff implementation notice. This remains a dated source-conflict note, not a statement that a particular person qualifies. Have counsel check the current order and the person’s exact charges/holds before paying or promising release.

  1. Before paying bail, confirm the total required for every case and whether a source-of-funds review or other restriction applies. Ask the jail for the exact accepted payment method, payee, counter, opening hours and identification. Those local payment details were not verified in the public Sheriff material.
  2. A commercial bond contract is different from depositing the full cash bail with the authorized public counter. Review premium, collateral, payment obligations and cancellation/return terms before signing; ask counsel about release review if money is unaffordable. Do not use the court’s online fine-payment page or an Access trust deposit as a bail payment.
  3. Keep the depositor’s receipt and current mailing address with the court. The court says cash-bail refunds are processed after its order, usually in 6–8 weeks, by check to the depositor named on the receipt. This is separate from a bond company’s charges and from unused jail funds.
  4. For pickup, obtain the confirmed release location and a way for the person to contact you. Plan clothing, phone charging, medication/health follow-up and a safe ride if release occurs after buses stop. Confirm any reporting appointment, court date and written conditions before leaving.
Recover unused jail funds

Search the Sheriff’s unclaimed-money service by name and note the Property ID. Follow its claim form, sign it and supply the required ownership/identity evidence. The published mailing address is Sheriff’s Accounting & Finance – Unclaimed Money Unit, PO Box 512, Riverside, CA 92502. Questions: unclaimedmoney@riversidesheriff.org; 951-955-8922 is a recorded information line. The site’s 3-year holding/public-notice process is not a reason to wait 3 years to claim. Ask about a missing recent release balance directly with jail trust staff first.

Plan the first day out and connect to local help

Before release, ask SITE-B/ReSET or housing staff for a written plan: where the person will sleep, how to reach it, required reporting, identification/property, medicines and appointments, a working phone, food and employment support. Give staff a reliable family contact with the person’s consent. If a program is unavailable in the unit, ask which community referral can be made before discharge.

For housing, food, benefits and local service referrals, call 211 any time or use Inland SoCal 211. Tell the navigator the release city, immediate shelter/transport need, disability or medical needs and any court restrictions affecting housing. A referral is not a reserved bed; confirm acceptance and arrival arrangements with the provider.

Probation and pretrial reporting contacts

Follow the office and deadline on the actual release order. Offices/day reporting centers publish Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM, excluding county holidays; do not assume every person is eligible for a day-reporting program. If the paperwork is unclear or transportation fails, call the assigned officer before the deadline.

Use the county system for a recent arrest. A state corrections search covers people in state custody. It generally will not list someone booked into a county jail this week. Bookings, bail, release, and visiting are all handled by Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Clear information.
Clear boundaries.

Jail411 is an independent information resource for families and friends. We are not a government agency, jail operator, law firm or live custody-records service.

Can Jail411 tell me if someone is in custody right now?

No. Jail411 does not hold live custody records. Use the official locator for the county, state, federal or ICE system that has the person; start here if you do not know which.

Does posting bond mean the person comes home?

Not always. A probation or parole hold, another county's warrant or an immigration detainer can keep someone in custody after bond is posted. Ask the jail what holds are on the booking before you pay.

What should I confirm before visiting?

The person's current facility, the visiting schedule, approval requirements, accepted identification and arrival instructions. Check the facility page and its official sources before you travel.

What if I find something that needs correcting?

Send us the page and the detail that needs attention. Include the official source when you have one. Do not send private booking documents or other sensitive personal information.
