Four things worth sorting out before you travel. None of them replace what your assigned agent tells you — they are what people most often get caught out by.
- Check which office is yours Your office is set before release, from the county you are paroled to — not from whichever office is nearest. Several units share one building, and some cover towns a long way from their own address.
- Call before you travel Offices move and consolidate, and a number that worked last year may now route somewhere else. One call confirms the address, the hours and who you are asking for.
- Take your paperwork and photo ID Bring anything you were given on release, along with photo identification. If you do not have ID yet, say so when you call — it is a common situation and they will tell you how they handle it.
- If you cannot make the appointment Call the parole office immediately — you can call collect. If you cannot reach your agent or the Officer of the Day, call the closest parole office and ask for help. Reporting remains your responsibility.
