Commissary & care packages
Choose between spending money and an approved package. They are separate services with separate order records.

Money or merchandise?
Trust account
Deposit through Access Corrections so the person can make eligible purchases through the facility. A deposit is not a package order and does not pay bail.
Vendor package
Access Securepak identifies a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department program. Choose the correct agency and person before selecting merchandise. Do not substitute a box mailed from home.
Before you place an order
- Find the person’s current facility, booked name and booking number. A transfer or release can change eligibility.
- Select Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in Access Securepak. Confirm the recipient and the available program before adding items.
- Check the current spending limit, order frequency, item restrictions, tax, handling charge and shipping terms in that person’s catalog. Save the displayed terms before paying.
- Keep the order number, item list, total, recipient booking number and promised delivery window. A submitted order is not proof that it was delivered.
Which limits can we verify?
The current provider’s public landing page identifies the county program, but its current recipient-specific limits, fees and delivery terms were not publicly available for this review. An older county catalog contains obsolete facility names and restrictions. We have not carried its dollar limits or delivery promises forward as current policy.
Eligibility can depend on the person’s location and restrictions. A product appearing in a general catalog does not establish that this person may receive it. Review the matched recipient’s actual checkout information.
Missing, damaged or undelivered items
- Compare the delivered contents with the order list. The recipient should report a shortage or damage to facility staff and ask how it is documented.
- Use the provider’s order-support route with the confirmation number. Ask whether staff verification, a delivery record or a claim form is needed.
- If the person has transferred or been released, contact the provider promptly before ordering again. Ask whether the order can be stopped, redirected, collected or refunded under its actual terms.
- Record the case number, who must take the next step and the follow-up date. Do not assume that release automatically produces a refund.
Books and personal mail use different rules
LASD requires books and periodicals to come directly from a bookstore or publisher. The published weekly limits are three books and three periodicals; hard covers and metal or plastic bindings are prohibited. Use the mail guide for addresses, photos and publication appeals.
Confirm their current facility.
